Hi. My first post in the maintenance section. I am off for maintenance appointment this morning. I've been on 1 shake a day plan for 4 weeks now after reaching initial goal. This week I wanted to achieve my 40kg blinkie before starting maintenance today but seems I've lost nothing this week. That makes me still 400g away from 40 lost. Grrr!

My question is to you seasoned losers - Is it likely that I could lose 400g my first week of maintenance or do I stay on the one shake a day plan for another week? What are your experiences with weight loss on maintenance? a little still or totally stopped?

Thanks in advance... I need this advice. Cheers, Kim.

I guess you have been for your appointment by now & maybe asked them? Because they like you to ease onto maintenance I reckon you lose a little as you do that. Have a look in the thread pinned above where SkinnyDi posted for a while after going onto maintenance...I know she lost. Worse case in a few weeks you could do One Shake for a week & have it go.

I lost when I started Maintenance.  I'm a kg below goal now and have happily stayed there for at least a month.  Having said that I haven't been eating as many cals as the maintenence plan reccommended.  I've created my own sort of hybrid plan from my maintenance plan and the Calorie King Website recommendations.  I did this because I found CK easier to track my eating each day!!!  I eat heaps and am more than satisfied, I'm happy that it should be maintainable for a long time to come I hope.  I had been on one shake a day for a few weeks and wasn't really losing on that, not that I was really trying to, but on maintenance went down a kg over a couple of weeks.  Good luck with that last 400gms, that's frustrating, isn't it?

Naomi.

Thanks for your replies. I started on maintenance yesterday and it sure is confusing!! Yesterday, I did horribly - hard to get your head around eating all that food. Today (I think) I've done better. Hopefully I do lose the last 300g now (lost 100g last week) shortly. The tf consultant set my program for a kg lower than I am now so I can get my blinkie. Fingers crossed.

So hard to come to terms with all the carbs though. Don't know If I'll be able to bring myself to eat pasta/rice etc!! Too scared.

Thanks again, Cheers, Kim.

I was a bit scared of that too, unfortunately it becomes comfortable again all too quickly.  Although there are some carb substitutes (ie cauli rice) that I will use forever!!!
