Wisdom teeth

I got all my wisdom teeth out about a month ago and they have healed well. however, the sockets are still there and i am forever getting food caught in there which is really hard to get out. it grosses me out and is driving me nuts. anyone know how long its takes for the sockets to close?????

Migraines- what do you do to alleviate them??

Hi everyone,

Have had a migraine for the last 2 days and I'm trying to find something to alleviate it apart from using medicine etc. I don't mind having panadol/nurofen etc, but I need something stronger as these dont work, and the stronger drugs all have codeine which make me very sick, so I can't have them!

So my question is, what do you do when you have migraines to stop them?

I'm off to the doctors tomorrow to see what they suggest

I was just in my bathroom, and i thought shaving my pits and legs was nessersary.

Anyhoo, I can actually shave my pits without having to pin half my arm skin to my nose :hehe:

Then I thought if I don't shave my legs I'll have to call Greenpeace to obtain logging rights !!!

I just lifted my leg up onto the sink and off I went. Purfect job too I might add. :cool:

I guess to some people this means nothing, but to me it means everything. It's been over 10 years since I could shave my own legs !!!!!!!!

Just simple little things I notice that I can do now, like the above like checking the mail without having to have a nanny nap, or hanging out the washing in one go.

What about you.?????

Good Morning everyone

well the sun is up, the birds are singing, the washing is on, and i am having my coffee for the day, and it looks like the rain we were having has headed over to victoria!!

Today i will be cleaning up after the heavy rain - theres mud in places i never thought there would be grrrrrr, and my clothes are going to love being aired out on the line instead of being dryed in the dryer :)

Whats everyone else got planned for today??

Ok, This is proberly a stupid question.... But.... My period is late. By about a week i think. Is there by any chance that this diet can change the dates of getting it.

Im so worried.. I havent taken a test as im hopin to get my period..

2 days ago i had brown "old blood" come out.... Not alot at all.... Like.... say about 15 spots. Than nothing.. yesterday or 2 day....

Hi everyone just wanting some opinions here.

I went to the drs today & had to have some blood tests to check my hormone levels, he said it sounded like i have depression.

I am 32 years old married , 2 boys age 8 & 5. For the last 4-5 months i have been having trouble with my monthlys like my boobs become so heavy i have to hold them to have a shower its that painful, sleeping in my bra etc, i can not stop crying , fly off the handle at my kids for silly reasons, then ( ashamed as i am to admit it ) sometimes get that frustrated i hit myself in the head, i feel like there is a war going on in there i can't handle it. I can't do any housework, struggle to get out of bed & get on with my day & usually sleep for 2-3hours thru the day.I usually finish work at midnight. Nothing has happened in my life to warrant these changes but as the months go it is getting harder to deal with.

I should get my blood tests back by monday, doc said something about a phsycologist if my bloods come back normal. What is wrong with me I don't really want to talk to anyone about it because i just start crying.

I will take on board any opinions/suggestions as it has taken me so long just to head to the drs & ask for help...has anyone else been in a similar situation?

The houseworks done, the washing cant get put on the line, it went in the dryer, ive been on the wii fit (and worked out you DONT do the body test with your weights on hahahahah or it goes up 4.5kg and your bmi goes through the roof), the toddlers wont sleep, they want to go and play ..... the other kids will be home in an hour, I'M BORED!!!!!!!

This has been for 2 days in a row, ohh dear, i think i have cabin fever bad!!!!

Obesity and health

Just needed to vent/share. Today I received news that a friend of my good friend John died yesterday (John also lost his friend Julie to suicide a couple of weeks ago...not a good month).

Tiny (play on his stature of course) was anything but Tiny. I have no idea how much he weighed, but it would be in excess of 160kg I'm sure. I wasn't close to him, but bumped into him at every party and BBQ at John's place over the last 17 years or so. He was a good-looking man with a great sense of humour - he also seemed to grow and grow each time I saw him.

He lost his parents at a very young age and called John's parents Ma and Da - they were his surrogate parents. As all ma's would, Johns mum used to encourage him to take of his weight and was worried about his ever increasing health issues and gynormity of size.

His passion was his friends and fishing.....and of course food!

I often think you 'can' be large and healthy and I believe size isn't everything, yet there is definately a line and there is a difference between plump and morbid obesity. They do call it 'morbid' obesity for a reason I suppose and as much as I would love to defend that being big doesn't necessarily cause health issues, it seems more and more evident that it probably does. Tiny was warned by Dr's that he wouldn't see 40 if he didn't do something about his health (he laughed it off), my dad was also fore-warned, sadly both Dr's were proven right.

It's a very sad reminder to put my health before my waistline and try my best to put good fuel in.

Our friend Tiny died yesterday, of a massive heart-attack, he was only 39 years old.

Rest in peace Tiny - you won't be forgotten.

Whale Watching!!

Hi everyone, :D

My baby girl turned 11 yesterday and to celebrate she chose to go on a Whale Watching adventure for 4 hours!!:w00t:

And thats what it was "an ADVENTURE"!!! To cut a long story short, we had lunch at Circular Quay before going on a Whale watching tour even though the weather was... bad and the seas were horrendous, they had 3metre swells PLUS!!!!

Well lets just say we seen the first hour before we all had our heads in sick bags for the remaining 3 hours!!( NO KIDDING) But we did seen several Whales which trully is an amazing sight and even though it will take me a while to recover , I would love to go back out when the seas are CALM!! !!

I will add some pics today when everything around stops rocking!! The birthday girl had a lovely ( SICK) day and is off to her 1st outing for High School prep today and then we are back in town for a school excursion tomorrow ( NO BOATS INVOLVED)!!! But the birthday girl enjoyed her day despite us all being sick!!!

We woke up this morning and everything is still swaying, so I guess we still have our sea legs on, Im hoping to get back to normal today as I still cant keep anything down at all!!! I have never suffered sea sickness but then again it was VERY ROGH out there!!

Any advice on stopping everything swaying would be GREAT!:w00t:

Well today I heard from my friend that his ex girlfriend from some time back took her own life on Friday. They've always kept in touch, and I've met her on a few occassions.

On the outside Julie seemed to have it all and yet for some reason she decided this way was a better option. She's about my age - 41.

I took the information onboard and find myself sitting here feeling a little annoyed that she has left her partner and family in this tragic way. I've had a best friend and a boyfriend attempt suicide in the past and feel totally bewildered as to why most of us fight for our lives and yet someone makes that final choice.

Such a terrible waste that I'll never understand.

Everything is going wrong at once

This is just a little rant, have to get somethings off my chest.

Everything seems to be going wrong at once, me and my boyfriend of two years broke up just over a week ago, work has gotten so stressful that I dread going in- I either have to sit there for hours with nothing to do or I am buried under work I don't understand, rego and vet bills are drawing closer, I'm broke and it's my birthday in just over a month and it's just made me think that I'll be another year older and while the majority of my friends are finishing uni soon or travelling I am just floating around doing nothing worth while.

I'm trying to get it together and set some goals but I'm having trouble shaking off the blues :(

Hey ladies, you knew I had a wedding to go to on saturday night, It was a very big and busy weekend.. And I let loose, I drank alot of wine, champagne.. I havent drank since my wedding a year and a half ago.. So yeah I got very drunk !!.. embarassingly drunk lol.. And put on 2kg, I weighed myself today... oohhh.. thats bad.. But i didnt eat anything good for me.. LOL.. But what that does for me is realise how much I DONT miss eating like that.. I didnt feel good about myself, I felt like CRAP last night!!... I had ALOT less energy, and even had to nap yesterday afternoon!!.. Bad food is bad for me, and it makes me feel bad LOL.. So Im here to let you all know how bad my weekend was.. But heres a pic of me in my dress !!.. not THE dress, but a dress I bought from target ! My husband was a groomsman.. He is pulling the Strangest face.. he looks really weird LOL

Floorboards

Ok, since it's pouring with rain and I'm stuck inside, I was thinking about doing something with my floorboards.

I have a small hallway in the middle of the house - it's tiny, like 1200 sq'd. The carpet has been pulled up and there the floor underneath is wooden. Ideally, I'd like the entire house carpet pulled up all the floors sanded and polyurethaned etc. but everything is about the here and now at the moment as $'s are tight. So I'm thinking of ways to 'floss up' this old house without spending the bucks.

Has anyone ever painted floorboards?

If you have, what prep did you do, and what colour did you use?

Thinking this could be a quick fix to tidy that area up - I can always get them sanded etc. another time...many years from now ;)

Ok, so someone has put half a grapefruit down my loo!!!

...it's of course blocked now with the water rising up and over - NOT what I needed first thing this morning. With a half flush it comes almost to the top and doesn't look so revolting (if you know what I mean....tmi I know I know....)

So my question is - do you think it will just disintegrate soon or move of its own accord or do I need to get the $120 plumber out!!!!!

- at the moment it goes down (the water level) after about half an hour or so and seems 'safe' if I only half flush

Following on from Mrs Flea's post re: her husbands MASSIVE anniversary it got me thinking... I wondered what everyone does for living?

As for me, I'm an Executive Personal Assistant. I've previously had wonderful roles that challenged my senses and have been surrounded by passionately driven people in both the fashion industry and personal development education. Unfortunately it also took up most of my life. In 2007, after over 10 years living in a whirlwind and for various personal reasons, I took a very long break and then decided it would be great to have a role where once I had left the office that was that.

Careful what you wish for. That's exactly what I got and I'm bored out of my head in a manufacturing industry that still operates like it's 1972. No one develops to anything and no one enjoys their job. They simply seem to exist for the dollar and I'm not used to that.

I'm looking for a new role in 2009 with a more dynamic team.

What do you do?

I plan to stay on the program, except for Xmas day but I will try and make

good choices but on boxing day, we are hooking the Jayco Swan up to the

car and heading North for 2 weeks, so Im a little worried about being on the
