I have cut out my fruit serves to allow for the musli cause I really enjoy it for breakfast. I am also doing 30 m ins exercise a day too, so Im hoping the exercise will help burn those extra carbs up? even though I have sacrificed my fruit.

any thoughts would be much appreciated...

thanks again.

MAINTENANCE MONTHLY WEIGH IN

1st weigh in for Maintenance people is 01 May - see you then - please don't reply to this post until you weigh in on 1 May.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's results 1/5 and on the 1st of each month thereafter and hope to see lots more people join us by then. I fly to Canada in the morning so i weighed in this morning (after 3 days on one-shake) and was a little nervous as i've been so 'full' on the one-shake plan.... but i lost 100g, which i guess is better than a gain! I've had my maintenance apt and have written myself out a week's worth of meal plans for when i'm ready to start. I'm going to continue one shake over the next week, purely for the fact it's a little easier as ill be adjusting to new surrounds and a new life abroad. However, next time i post, hopefully i'll be onto maintenance and keen to see how everyone keeps up with it :)

Ive crossed to the dark side - how to get back?

Ive put on some weight ... now 72kgs ... do I got back to the 2 shake plan ... try the 1 shake and see what happens or just DESPERATELY try and return without help?

HELP?

Havent weighed in with TF in a while either, will I get in trouble?

Bel

from 2 shakes to one or straight to maintence?

Hi guys just after some advice. But I just cant beleive I've almost done it!:w00t:

Now I have a question.... When should I go on the 1 shake a day plan then onto maintenence do we have to do the 1 shake a day plan firtst before maintenence to get our bodies used to the foods again or???? I was hoping to stick to 2 shakes until Im at 58 kgs, I get terribly hungry on the 1 shake a day no idea why!

So get used to me hanging around in this section a little more now Im almost on maintenence yayyyy!:D

How exciting is it????hehe next step.... Not too bad as i had to dine out twice (Chinese and Mexican) and have a few vinos for a friends birthday. SO, i weighed in at 60.5kg and my TF consultant said i shouldn't really drop below 60kg. However, i feel i'm going to be happy at 58kg. I'm moving overseas (going to a cold winter for atleast 6 months) and would rather have a buffer of 58kg to 60kg, rather than 60kg +. Should i stick to what the consultant said or make my goal of 58kg?!! I guess i'm thinking out loud here! Sorry if i'm not making sense. I guess i'm saying - my TF consultant said to start the one-shake plan today for one week (said i may put on up to 1kg, but not get disheartened), OR do one more week of two-shakes (getting me closer to MY goal) and start the 2-shakes next week. Aunt Flo is expected this week too, so i guess i'm scared of putting on from starting the one-shake and on top have increase fluid retention and weight in next week 2kg heavier! The consultant was in a rush this morning so i didn't really get a chance to get all of this out to her. She just handed me the one-shake and said follow the plan.

What are others experience on the one-shake? Did you really put on a 1kg in the first week? Do you think it would be ok to do two-shake for one more week to get to 58, even 59 and then work on the one-shake and maintenance the week after?!! Any thoughts appreciated! This forum is going to be my TF home when i'm in Canada!! :)

Just started one shake a day plan and have questions

Hi guys ive just started the one shake a day plan and have my meeting for maintenance coming up on sunday. I know we can have carbs either the bread or pasta. Just wondering what type of pasta everyone has found the best, meaning the less carbs. i did find sapore fettucinie which has 50 percent less carbs but im also trying to find a spiral or penne pasta. Does anyone know which is best? Also can i have rice? If i can which is best?

One more final question i do really miss my pasta bakes and used to always use the pasta bake sauces. Does anyone know of a low carb pasta bake sauce if i can have it all that is.

Thanks in advance, Robyn

wondering about starting maintenance?

hi guys hoping someone can help do u have to actually go into a tf clinic or chemist to get your maintenance plans or can they do it for you over the phone on the 1800 number???

Last week on 2 shakes!

Hello!

My first post in this section! Yipee! I had my weigh-in this morning and lost exactly 1kg. So that makes me 3kg from goal. I had 8kg in total to lose, so i know compared to some it's not alot, but hey.... it's enough and been hard with my sisters wedding and moving overseas in 3 weeks! I'm on my last week of 2shakes which is exciting... i've come to love them so it's going to be interesting giving one up. I always heat them up and have them as my coffee at work :)

Anyway, i'm ready for another b2b week to lose another 1kg and then start on the one-shake (for one week) to hopefully get rid of the other two and ease me onto maintenance. This is what my TF consultant recommended...does it sound right?

Hopefully be posting here more as of next week. My first post in the maintenance section. I am off for maintenance appointment this morning. I've been on 1 shake a day plan for 4 weeks now after reaching initial goal.:) This week I wanted to achieve my 40kg blinkie before starting maintenance today but seems I've lost nothing this week. That makes me still 400g away from 40 lost. Grrr!;)

My question is to you seasoned losers - Is it likely that I could lose 400g my first week of maintenance or do I stay on the one shake a day plan for another week? What are your experiences with weight loss on maintenance? a little still or totally stopped?

Thanks in advance... I need this advice. Have been feeling dizzy and almost passing out the whole time I think I needed a little more energy with my 2 litte ones too, I dont go out of my way to exercise but I am still a very active person and am always on my feet all day long. I went on the 1 shake a day plan for 3 days a little while ago cause my weight loss had stopped on the 2 shakes a day plan, then got it moving (lost 200g in 3 days on 1 shake per day plan) then tried the 2 shakes a day plan again and dam bloody DETOX!!!!:w00t: Got me real bad headaches vomiting almost passing out again, so I have decided since I am so close to goal weight only have 5-ish kilos to go it would be better of me to stay on the 1 shake a day plan and to learn my healthy eating habbits and new way of life now as im not in a rush to loose the rest to get to 60 kilos.

Now thats explained.... Is it possible to loose that much weight on 1 shake a day plan? (i know its slower doesnt bother me).

and.... what do we eat if we are trying to loose weight on the 1 shake a day plan - can we still have our dairy option? and throw in a carb from the list? I really have no idea as I am not wanting to maintain my weight but do the 1 shake a day plan and still loose a little...

any advice or help would be gratly appreciated.... also would love to hear from anyone who's using the 1 shake a day plan for similar purpose?

Very confused about my protein serves

Hi, it's the weekend and I don't think I'm able to call a consultant and talk to them about my maintenance plan. It's taken me a while to wrap my head around the maintenance plan. Worked most of it out but was having trouble working out what fat grams to count! In the end I got on the calorie king website and figured out how to get it to display fat, protein, carbs and calcium in my daily plan so that I had it all written out for me!!

I was just wondering though if anyone else uses calorie king to keep track of their maintenance? Calorie King gives me less calories for maintaining weight than the TF plan does and seems to be a bit stricter, (ie it counts "free" veg like broccoli and cauli etc). Does anyone out there use it but not put in their free vegies?? I like the convenience of Calorie King, the fact that I can just put the info in and not have to calculate but still feel safe, but I guess I'm just adjusting to combing the two to make it easier for myself.

Sorry, this probably sounds a bit jumbled. Reflects the condition of my brain:P. If anyone understands any of what I'm saying I would really appreciate your suggestions or opinions:D.

Thanks, Naomi.

i promise the last question for today!

okay, just worked out my total calories for today, it was 972. how does this compare with other who are/have been on the one shake a day plan?

i just want to get this right, i don't want all my hard work on the 2 shakes to be worth nothing now.

another question

just wondering.. the fruit on the 1 shake a day, is it optional like the 2 shake plan or is it recommended.. just doesn't say optional on the plan and because i'm still hoping to lose a couple of kilo's AND i'm really full today after vegies etc i wouldn't to know if it'd hurt to skip?

thankyou in advance

does maintenance work?

hey guys i'm not ready to start maintenance but i was just scanning through the forum and seem to see alot of people that have done tf in the past lost weight but have put it on and doing the diet again.so i wanted to know does maintenance work?does it keep the weight of for good? And ask for opinions from any maintenancers (is that a word?) out there.

I ordered my first lot of TF on Friday, it arrived Tuesday and I started yesterday (thank you God for internet shopping in school holidays!!!). I was all psyched up to go (still am actually, despite what i'm about to tell you), when I mention in passing (via web group) that I'm about to TF, and this friend of mine went on this RAMPAGE against TF, I mean seriously, it made war and peace look like a text message. She just raved on and on about how you end up with flabby skin all over the place and have to have surgery to remove your excess skin, and everyone who's EVER done TF gets mood swings and depression and migraines, and everyone who's EVER lost weight on TF puts it all back on again and like, another 20% more than what they were to begin with (which at least would fix the flabby skin, right??? :P). Then she started raving on about her new eating choices and how wonderful and happy and la-di-freakin-dah she is, and I just wanted to smack her.

Well let me tell you, I had the you-know-what's with her for knocking me off my perch before I'd even managed to climb on it. I mean seriously, can she at least let me have a go before she hoses crap all over me??? I have yo-yo dieted for 10 yrs. My diet history in a nutshell - Jenny Craig - lost 20kg, put on 15. Jenny Craig again - lost 5, put on 5. Weight Watchers - lost 2kg (in 10 weeks - OMG that diet was TORTURE). Atkins - lost 20, put on 30. Now I have been gradually putting on weight the last 4 yrs, due to a job (which I've just quit) that had very weird hours, so very poor diet, and now I'm 109.5.

Anyway I know that the one common denominator in all this weight gain is me. I mean seriously, any diet that helps you lose weight can't be held responsible when you go back to eating sugar-encrusted deep-fried lard, can it? So I need a long-term plan. I know nothing about the maintenance phase of this diet, and I would love to know what everyone does for maintenance. Do you stick to the shakes, if so how often on maintenance? Do you eat carbs at all? If so is that refined carbs, or just low-GI stuff? Do you splurge occasionally on something chocolatey and fudgey? Do you do the low-GI wholegrain routine? I know this may seem premature, but I'm a control freak and I need to plan waaaaayyyyyy in advance to get my head in the right place.

Anyway if you've gotten this far, thanks for reading my vent :) I haven't actually replied to the girl, every time I think of it I have steam coming out my ears. But any replies will be gratefully received... (Finally got reliable internet connection here!) Not since I left Australia in September! I left Australia at goal and determined to stick to it and not put on the kilos in France (the land of good food). Of course, we all say you have to go easy on yourself for holidays, but I'm living here! Can't be eternally on holidays!

I was going well - actually VERY well with my maintenance for the first month. I actually even lost another 2kg because I was walking so much and eating well (French school lunches - very well balanced and CHEAP!). I had lost some extra weight leaving Australia...namely a boyfriend. So I think being single and feeling fabulous with my weight helped keep it off at the start. But then in November I came down with glandular fever, and between that and the holidays, the weight has crept on a bit!

I came to France as 62kg and now I'm up to 66kg. Yes, I bought scales here the very first week! I slowly started a bit of snacking again, but I've been good, putting a stop to that over the last week or two.

One thing that did impress me was when I went to buy a jumper here in a shop - I was a size 1, the smallest size in that shop! And I thought French women were supposed to be super skinny! I have come to the conclusion that they are just like the rest of us!

My French boyfriend and I are looking at moving in together - so having someone else to eat dinner with etc will make it easier. Anyway, I just thought I'd report in and try and keep doing that to keep my weight under control!

Veggies on Maintenance

Hi All,

I'm 2.5kgs from my goal weight and I'm getting increasingly nervous about maintenance. I'm feeling pretty comfortable having been on the diet so long so the next phase is exciting but a bit nerve wracking.

I just wanted to ask you if the rules are the same for veggies once you're on Maintenance? Are you still allowed to have unlimited allowed veggies or is everything now limited? Just wondering how many of the snack habits I'm developing now will need to be altered:D.

Thanks for your time.

Naomi.

A recipe (Baked Snapper with a Twist)

Hi everyone,

I found a great recipe that is TF friendly for us doing maintenance and for those doing the program wth some changes to it so not to interfere with their daily requirements.

Enjoy.

Baked Snapper with a Twist
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; I goaled at 68kg December '06 (26kg loss) and have been on maintenance ever since. I revised my goal to 65kg as I continued to have similar weight loss for the few weeks I did the one shake plan, and also lost another 3ish kg on maintenance, so at my lightest got down to about 62kg (on reflection, a little too thin for me - if that is possible! :hehe: ). I think my 'happy' weight is around 64kg, give or take 2kg - which, admittedly, is a little heavy, given I am only 162cms tall. This makes me a regular size 12, which I am more than happy with.

I was a regular lurker, seldom poster in the forums. In fact, whilst I weighed-in weekly at my local TW, it was these forums that I found to be the best source of info.

Anyways, why am I telling you folks all this?? Short story - I have managed to maintain my weight for a little over 12 months... then things went a little pear-shaped!! :ermm: About 8 - 10 kgs crept on... reasons? - I got married and accepted a job posting to China, all in under a month (Aug/Sept) - just a weenie bit of stress! :w00t: So, the ensuing couple of months were crazy!! My job involves loads of travel, both domestically and internationally - and managing this, along with packing up a house, farewelling friends and family scattered all around Australia - I turned into a bit of a boozing and drinking machine in the three months before we left Oz

I managed to keep my weight pretty much under the 68kg mark, until we landed in Shanghai - the land of heavy, bulky, starchy, highly processed and refined food; oh, and have I mentioned I'm a recovering rice-aholic?? Not to mention that we landed here in the middle of the most severe winter in 50 years!!! :hehe: Anyways, as a result, I have crept up to 73.1kgs!!! So, it's now time to reign it in!!

I had a week's worth of shakes I brought over with me- left over from good intentions to do a week's cleansing before I left... somehow X'mas, New Year and last minute farewells got in the way of my good intentions :D

So, to make the shakes go a little further, I am only having one a day - what I'm sort of doing is a mixture of the one-shake and maintenance... including one dairy serve most days, limiting my fruit to no more than 2 serves and avoiding complex carbs. And most importantly, have cut out the booze too :pinch: although, not that hard to do here - Aussie wine is frightfully expensive, the local stuff similar to paint stripper, and I'm not the hugest beer fan.

So, the good news is that my weight is slowly dropping back down to a more respectable level... I've been doing this routine since last Monday, and as of this morning am weighing in at 70.2kg :D I know that most of this is probably fluid, and that I shouldn't expect it to keep dropping off so quickly, which I am more than fine with.

I have been reading up on the forums, kinda catching-up on what's been happening, and any changes to the program, so am now back into the right mindset I think.

I have not yet decided if I will order more shakes - to get a month's worth sent over to me is a little pricey (need to be a little conservative on the spend these days, we've gone from a double income earning family to a single income), and given my previous results on this program, and also on one-shake and maintenance, I reckon I might be able to keep control by watching what I eat. I keep a daily food diary, weighing and recording EVERYTHING I eat. Way back when I started maintenance, I created myself a spreadsheet that calculates total daily intakes to help me with this.

And last week I sent my husband out to buy a set of digital bathroom scales and kitchen scales, so I'm back in the swing!

I just wanted to share my story, and if anyone has any great advice, I'd be more than happy to hear it! ;) Thanks for reading my little 'story' :)

Cheers,

Jossie

ABOUT TO START MAINTENANCE

I HAVE JUST MADE MY GOAL WEIGHT AND AM ABOUT TO START MAINTENANCE.
