Animated Avatar pictures

Hi. I tried for ages to post my GIF (animated picture) in the Avatar section, but whenever I uploaded it, the animation would stop. It drove me crazy, especially because I actually make and use alot of my own GIFS, but I couldn't figure out what was going on.

Anyway, I finally realized that this site was automatically resizing the Avatar and when it did, the animation ceased to work. After mulling it over for quite awhile, I realized that if I resized the animation myself first, to below 80 by 80 pixels, it would work. So I tried it and yep, success! ( see my santas feet, cute hey?!)

Anyway i thought I'd post this in case anyone else out there has been trying to post a moving avatar without any success...you need to resize it first.

( I used my Animation 3 shop by Jasc software to do this, I'm not sure how else you could do it.. I'm sure someone else would know.)

or, post your animation here, and I will resize it for you and then you can go ahead and upload it.

By the way, Greg said he is changing the site's servers next week and that this may not be a problem then after all, but just in case...:D

which is puting it bloody politely for me since i hardly ever hold any shit back. once again oh i mean bloody still i am having trouble adding more then 1 ticker which is fing pethetic and frankley i am sick of it well and truely. if u do not fix this and asap i will be making a huge complaint to the boss himself. and belive me i will and that will include the extremly pathetic none responsive help 99.9% of the time in the ask stuff section. this site has gone down big time. and if this is not fixed i will be telling every1 i meet not to go on tf and that includes new custumers at the terry white i go to. or any1 i hear about that is on it.

I still cannot edit my own posts. Even if I want to update my before and during pics, I can't just add a new pic to an existing post I created, I have to make a brand new post.

I'm with Aliesha. Please fix this. It's so amazingly frustrating.

The IT deparment have made attempts to assist, but the matter has not been followed up on and is ongoing.

Hi, when I first did TF a couple of years ago I put a number of pictures up including in my 'Member Level Image' section. How can I get rid of the one that is there and just have the default symbol show again?

Google Chrome - browser compatibility

Hi,

The Recent Posts button (and popular topics) don't work in the Google Chrome browser.

The error from the browser's JavaScript Debugger is:

[i]uncaught exception ReferenceError: InstantASP_RemovePX is not defined[/i]

I'm hoping this is something that can be fixed by your technical team, as it's a pain having to use a second browser just for these forums.

I really enjoy getting on to the forum and checking out the various topics, but when I add anything, the time is wrong, I am sitting at the computer at 9.25am but when I added a reply the time came up as 11.22pm. Why is it doing this?

Show all posts by this member...

Find all topics this member has participated within..
click on either one…...

To get the 'blog' button at the bottom of your posts
*Control panel,

*Contact Details
and either paste the url of your homepage or Blog info to:

*And Save…….

To put an excel spreadsheet weight loss in your signature…

Fill in your spreadsheet with your details

take a "print Screen" of it..

there is a button/key on your keyboad somewhere that says Print screen... press it..

open paint (or whatever graphic program you have) and click paste...

then edit it and save as a jpeg...

then you can easily post it in your signature box...

just repeat this each time you edit it (weekly etc.,)

Putting any picture or Blinkie into Signature

Right click on picture/blinkie and copy, then go to where you want to put it (say your signature) and paste or………..

click save image as and save it to your computer,

left click on the mountain icon with a red sun in your page

Browse your files for the picture,

click open

then add image and it should appear on the page...
don't forget to update twice.....

If you can’t use the mountain icon,

you need to right click and save image as onto your computer, then….

open a photobucket account it's FREE at http://photobucket.com/ once you have an account,

simply Browse your files and select the picture,

upload the picture....
when it appears in it's own box

left click on the IMG Code (copied should be highlighted) then go back to your signature page and paste,

don't forget to update twice.....

or....

if you have Firefox get yourself this add on button it will make your life so much easier on TF site

when installed right click on the firefox button down the righthand side of your screen and this box will come up

click add and every time you come on TF it will aoutomatically turn on.

it will turn off as you leave the site...

Tickers/Trackers:ADDING & MAKING UPDATES!

Okay first step go to the site to make your ticker:
www.tickerfactory.com
Click on the link above and then click on weight loss it will open to the tickers.
Now choose your ticker click next.....
choose your ticker mover click next....
it will show your starting weight(put what you are or were)....
current weight(put yours in even if its the same as your starting weight)....
goal weight(put what you want to be) and click next.
Now you should see what your ticker will look like
and below that a whole heap of codes
all you need is the bbcode
so highlight it copy it and come back here to the TF site.
Now go to the control panel link at top click on that....
now down the left side you will see edit signature click on that.....
now you should have a space,
paste what you copied from the ticker site into that space.....
now at the bottom hit update(the page will refresh itself but you will see nothing)
hit update again(this time you should see your ticker & that should be it.

IMPORTANT:
UPDATING TICKERS>>>>....
so all you need to do then is each week when you weigh in
is click on your ticker and it will take you back to tickerfactory,
put your pin in and click update and change your weight,
fill in your new date anc click next,
it should take you back to the finished updated ticker
and presto there is your new one that is as far as you have to go
as it will change over in the forum automatically.....
refresh your page to see it…..

For turning off other peoples signature…

Go into control panel (up the right top side of the screen) and then into forum settings,
and then untick show signatures.

Also for dial up people taking the signatures off can make it quicker.

For the correct time for your area….

scroll down to Choose Time Zone

GMT + 10:00 Eastern Australia , Guam, Vladivostok (right time for Victoria )
there is a drop down menu, find the one for your part of Australia NZ etc.,

To empty pm folders

control panel
Inbox and tick box at side of ones you want to delete
scroll down to bottom there will be an empty drop down box with another box beside it that says with selected....
highlight move to delete
go back to sent Items and do the same
go to empty pm folders and click on the deleted items box
and then click on empty selected…
it will ask if this is what you want to do, if all if correct click ok

well I tried a search tonight and each time (with internet explorer 7) I receive server error message.

I tried Firefox just for the hell of it, and knowing your code doesn't like FF and that won't even bring up the search window
(very frustrating being forced to use IE7 due to programmers preferences)

everything else on the web site appears OK.

I'd like to get a chart sorted out with start date etc. I've figured out how to print page and save as jpeg. but when I add it to my signature I end up with the whole spreadsheet page. Is anyone able to explain how to just copy the chart from the spreadsheet.

Hi Everyone,

I use mozilla firefox, but as I learned soon after joining, this site runs better with Internet explorer. Until tonight whenever I logged on, my computer automatically switched over to I.E. This is because of something that mally taught me to do................ I downloaded a firfox update today and now its not doing the switchy thing anymore.....

What will we ever do without mally........

Unable to edit my own posts

I noticed that Julian, Head of IT, had posted in this area relating to now being unable to delete posts, so I thought I'd have a shot at posting about me being unable to edit my own posts.

I've already posted this in the Ask TF Staff a Question section, but here it is again below...

I bet this is just as frustrating for you guys as it seems to have been for forum members. I'm also unable to edit my own posts. When clicking the edit button I'm told I don't have the necessary access and that it is likely that someone with admin access has restricted the post, which I'm quite certain is not actually the case.

I'm then asked to login, although I'm already logged in.

Also, my forum name doesn't show up when searching the members list for 'getting.skinny'. I can't find anything in Control Panel that may have restricted this action. Therefore, I'm assuming it relates to the fact that I'm not allowed to edit my own posts.

Any help would be appreciated.

It seems to relate directly to the fact that I'm not in any type of 'group', located in the area just below my Member Level Picture. 'Group:' says nothing next to, however other forum members have 'Forum Members' next to their group.

Pleeeeeease fix this! It has been an ongoing battle for quite a few of us.

I am being sent random emails to my personal email address from TF members

This week I have started getting emails to my personal emaill address from people claiming to be TF members - that I don't know!

I want this stopped as I thought PM's were meant to be the only form of contact members had with each other unless we willingly gave out our personal email address?

Hi everyone

Every time I press enter to start a new line I have double spacing. For example I pressed enter after typing "hi everyone" and i have double line spacing. How do I correct this. I was having problems with my signature but Ive decided to use word and cut and past from there to avoid the double spacing and using twice as much room. But I have noticed that people dont have double spacing when they start a new line of text in their signatures. Or are they using word too????

Input would be great. Look another huge space. Thanks
