My typical day is this....

Breakfast (8am): shake plus 2 teaspoons of simply fibre - plus multi-vitamin tablet.

snack 10am-10.30am): fruit (have been having about 7 strawberries & a few cherries) and today had a medium pear

Lunch (1pm-2pm): a salad - possibly 1 - 2 cups - and I add 2 slices of bacon chopped up for a little extra protien. (my bmi was above 40 - but now is probably just under)

snack (3.30pm): I have my shake

Dinner (6pm-7pm): full serve of protien and either veggies or salad.

supper (9pm-10pm): if I need it - I will have a jelly.

By 8am, I am ready for my shake. by 10-10.30 I am really ready for my snack - and then about 12 - 12.30 I am really really hunger - but hang out till 1pm because that is my lunch break time.

I guess my worst time for hunger is the morning & around 5pm just before dinner - am I not eating enough at my snack maybe...

sorry for the long winded email - I am hoping for some grea tips from all you successful ladies/gents.

thanks for your time

Cheers

RE: A Typical Day on TF

DEE ANGEL

The diet works best for weightloss if you have the 2 shakes and a balanced protein meal a day, otherwise you can go into starvation mode and either plateau or worse sdtill gain weight!

please if you're going to do the TF diet, do it as prescribed for best results, if the salad at luchtime makes you full, skip it, and have your 2nd shake, just be sure to have 3 cups+ vegies for tea or as nibbles in between when you get a hungry spot, it is not compolsory at lunchtime...the fruit also is optional :O)

RE: A Typical Day on TF

Just saw a previous post about McDonalds coffee... oooooooooo I missed that soooo much :crying:
I've found an awesome replacement though... I went onto the 2nd serve of protein around week 4 and I struggled to fit that in.

You need the fruit for fibre, and also to keep your blood sugar regular (not spiking). The veges are 3 cups min a day, so any you consume at lunch come out of that allowance. So if you are haing a salad for lunch, then you can eat less for dinner, and that might allow you to fit a fruit in after dinner.

I eat my 2nd protien on it's own. On those days that I am out and add a salad to it, I find it hard to fit in the 2nd shake.

It is always hard int he first week, but it does get easier and your body will adjust.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

RE: A Typical Day on TF

I am struggling to even eat my fruit serves each day, let alone having a salad for lunch plus a whole 3 cups of veges for dinner. I am tempted to not eat, cos I'm not hungry but Im worried it will be detrimental to my weightloss. I have a hell of a lot to lose, so I am also supposed to be having 2 protein serves per day. I am really hoping that I am only feeling like this because I am just starting out. I know I need to train my metabolism to start working harder - by eating less more often (which is exactly what TFD does)

RE: A Typical Day on TF
FIRST STEP (9/01/2009)
Hi there
How long have you been on the program and how much did you have to lose? There is a list of unlimited veges and salad items that are unlimited. You only have to limit your protein to 120g a day that is if your BMI is under 40 otherwise you can have 2x120g serves of protein a day plus your two shakes or soups.

On most days I have a salad or veges with my lunch shake and I have lost lots of weight doing that. Going hungry is bad for your weightloss as the body holds on to fat if it thinks that it is starving. Also your metabolism slows down making weight loss slower.

So, go for it, eat as many veges and salads as you wish as long as the items you choose are from the unlimited list in your TF booklet.

RE: A Typical Day on TF

Thats a good question. It takes the latest thinking in food psychology and turns it into a practical, easy to follow weight loss strategy. It builds on the weight loss principles learnt in the Weightloss phase and introduces your favourite foods back into your program so that you learn to enjoy the foods you love while still losing weight!

On Progress, the rate of weight loss may be slower than the Weightloss phase, but it can be sustained for a longer period of time and you can actually lose more weight in the long run. You will follow one of two daily plans:

Weightloss: 5 - 7 days
Progress: up to 2 days (an example typical day is below)

An Example Progress Day

Want to know how to structure your meals on a Progress day? Here is a look at what you will be consuming during a typical Progress day (Click here for a day on Weightloss).

2 litres of water
(spread out
through the day)

BREAKFAST
Tony Ferguson Shake &
Tony Ferguson Fibre**

MORNING TEA
1 serve low GI fruit &
Tony Ferguson Multivitamin***

LUNCH
Chicken, Cheese
and Salad Sandwich

AFTERNOON
TEA
1 serve
low GI fruit

DINNER
1 serve protein
with low GI
vegetables

AFTER DINNER
Tony Ferguson Diet Jelly

Your Tony Ferguson Practitioner will prescribe your favourite foods, loved meals and back up foods within your typical day and help you work out where to include these during your individual Progress consultation.

You can find out more about Progress at any of our conveniently located Tony Ferguson Weightloss & Wellness Centres or Terry White Chemists®.
