Not sure whether its due to embaressment or whether I just was thinking that I would fail at this like every other diet I've tried so I didn't want to look a fool. Now I've lost 15kg obviously everyone is starting to notice at work so when I walked into the room and someone announced 'You look so good what are you doing to lose all the weight?' and the room went deathly quiet I announced that I was on TF!!! Think I shocked myself more than them!

Anyway I'm really glad I have now!! Its been much easier this week not having to hide my shakes or bars and not eating them in front of people. Also people have stopped asking me if I want cakes and treats etc. They just say 'You want any of this will you!' I feel much more relaxed about it and eveyone is genuinely happy for me! And hopefully now everyone knows it might encourage me to stick with it!

No idea what I was so worried about!!

Jo x

Does the weather affect your commitment to the program??

hey guys, was just wondering if any of you find it difficult to do the program on cold and rainy days??? and how come?

I personally find it really hard especially on a day like today when it is cold and cloudy!!

do you have any tips of how i can be motivated?

p.s i know i posted this in the off topic section but though it would be better here!:D

a simple question....

Was wondering..do I have to eat 2 serves of fruit a day? I haven't lost any cm's either. I have no idea how this has happened as I stuck to the program to the letter. This is also the first week that I haven't had any wine. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to kick-start the weight loss again as I am very disappointed.
I've been drinking about 3 litres of water a day and I have been doing this every week since I started TF 8 weeks ago so it is not lack of water. Also, it is week 2 of my menstrual cycle so it unlikely to be fluid retention.

PROGRESS

Just thought I'd open up a thread for those on Progress to gas bag and support each other.

.... hmmm, might even look into it myself.

What exactly is Progress?

Is there a group anywhere for people on Progress?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows of a thread or group that have people that are on Progress? (800 or less) using meal replacement shakes and Avoiding Carbs/Sugar etc. And exercising Every morning, 1 break each week (1 day Rowing machine and leg work outs, next day upper body free weights and abs)
On the weekend trying to boost Carbs and Calorie intake With Starchy vegies and Chicken/Tuna. I have heard of this technique to put the body into a muscle building heaven (Carb cycling) so I increase the intensity of my work outs.

What I'm not sure of is how this is effecting my ketosis state, and if it could be tweaked.
My starting Weight about 3 - 4 weeks ago was about 136-137 kg, I am now around 126 kg with a bit of extra muscle

Is there a more efficient way of Keeping my muscle growth, and losing weight at the same time? I am not sure how an extra protein shake or supplement around work outs would effect the VLCD plan (ketosis)
I am 6'4", and with my frame I think I'll only get to 110 kg. Hoping to do that in the next 2 months.

Thanks for any opinions or advice in advance
Why did you do it????

Hi everyone

For years we watch our weight go up and up until finally one day something happens that makes us decide to do something about it.

What was the thing that made you change your lifestyle.

I sing in a band and at the mid year Country Music Festival in Tamworth, I was asked to participate in a Pie Eating Contest for charity. I am between periods and this is unusual for me.

The SImply Fibre contains a herb called red clover. Apparently, red clover has estrogen-like effects and a recognised side effect is spotting. One website says to report unexplained vaginal bleeding while taking red clover to your doctor, because it may be a sign of endometrial hyperplasia (overgrowth of the lining of the uterus).

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm doing a 7 day detox right now with the aim of going back to TF once I'm done.

But there are so many diets I've heard of (weight watchers, lite n easy, sure slim) blah blah blah... The list goes on forever! And really I'm just curious because I'm guessing that there are quite a few people who've been on different diets before settling for TF. So what have you been on, and did it work for you or did it do nothing?

And how much money have you spent on wasted diets/exercise programs? For example I think over the years I've spent about $500 on gym memberships and exercise equipment solely with the goal of loosing weight and NONE of it made a difference! I know have a $3000 treadmill which I was using every day like a fiend until I found out that it was stalling my weightloss.
Now I'm waiting until I get to 80kg to start again and only doing a light walk for 20 minutes or so every couple of days until then.

I've probably spent about $700 on dieting pills and potions as well, hoping to magically loose weight with no effort. Ha! Like they ever work. Even Duromine didn't work for long for me because my body adapted and it stopped working for me lol. But I'm curious, and I guess I just want to know whether other people get suckered as easily as I was at times, or whether it's just me rofl.

Why am I not Losing Weight

WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT?

Following are a few points that may help you understand why you may not have lost weight at your last weigh in

* Not drinking at least 2 litres of water

* Having bread, rice, pasta, crackers, breakfast cereals

* Having fruit juice

* Having alcohol

* Mixing shakes with milk rather than water

* Having dairy products eg. milk, yoghurt etc

* Having more than 2 fruits per day, fruits not on the allowed list or larger servings

* Certain medications

* Having mainly or too many carrots as your veggie requirement

* Having potatoes, pumpkin, peas or corn

* Eating nuts or seeds

* Havings honey or sugar in tea/decaffeinated coffee/shakes

* Having chickpeas, kidney or cannelloni beans

* Consuming too much dressing, sauces, mayo, gravies etc or those with greater than 5g carbs/100g

* Having baked beans

* Too many treat options or having them too often

* Having regular coffee rather than decaff or having more than 3 cups of normal tea per day

* Having lots of tea/decaff coffee with milk so that total milk intake is high

* Having normal soft drinks rather than having diet and caffeine free versions

* Having powdered soups available from supermarket

* Having regular jelly instead of diet jelly

* Skipping meals

* Exercising? - If you exercise a lot, this can increase muscle mass. How many kilos?

I know that I wont notice a change overnight, but today I am feeling a little depressed because for me I feel like im getting a more prominent double chin and I dont know if its mental or if its because I am noticing my body more than before or if I am putting on weight instead?

Count Down to First Weigh In .

So, i have been reading the other posts and think i should kick my water intake up a bit. I nearly caved in. But i didn't!!!!!! :D :D I tend to get hungry in the arvo after i come home from work and want something just to nibble on. Any ideas????
Starting Weight: 76.4 kgs (Oh no)

Week One:

All the single ladies!

All the single ladies, would love to hear from you as to how you manage to stay disciplined when there is no one around to stop you from balancing the ice cream tub on your boobs or to remove your face from a container full of fried rice?

I'm single, live on my own and, pre-Captain Fergs, was on first name basis with the owner of my local Chinese restaurant. Looking back at the week I can only be glad that I didn't put on more. Had friends over for dinner on Sunday evening and had roast & lemon meringue pie. They also came loaded with wine & after dinner snacks. Had a bad day on Thursday and ate a whole block of chocolate. Not a good sign.

Jumped back "on the wagon" on Monday and have been fine since.

I was just looking at my TF card and what weight I've lost. I'm up to 12.9 kg lost now and have 14.2 to go. Nearly 1/2 way. I know it seems like forever (started again seriously at the end of April) and I've been disappointed many many times but have to keep looking at where I'm going not what the week has done.

I'm usually more disciplined that last week but our youngest child (14) has been cutting herself & has been seeing a school counsellor and I've taken her to the local GP who suggested she also needs to see a psychologist so that's next on the list. It's all so much harder when you just can't be bothered with anything much. Her sense of reality is so much different from what is really going on that it's hard not to be scared & frightened & really messed up yourself.

Anyway - I've unloaded.

Caz
