I never can decide where to post, but here I am in general!!

I have noticed that there are a few of us getting married soon or a few of us losing weight for that reason.

I thought we could start a thread to let each other know how we are going and it might help us keep it together.

I am getting married on the 14th September and I dont fit into my dress yet, and I need to be 100% good to be able to do that zip up (it fits if laced, but I dont want to do that).  I have posted a pic of how much it misses by and will update that next week when I try it on again. Finger crossed for me!

I know there is a few of us, lets do this!!!!

         luv u Mal!

This my inspiration, I want to look like this again....SOON!

hey there! i am a bride to be too.im getting married in the begining of March. that means 7 months to go. My ticker says that my goal is 55 (which i would be happy with) but i really want to get down to 50! that may sound low, but i am only 5"1 and every kilos shows. i am starting to slide towards the edge of the wagon because my tummy is constantly grumbling.

im only on the one shake a day plan becuase i cant handle veges for lunch but i only eat one slice of burgen bread or some veges with a little bit of protein. it takes a little longer but seems to be working. Anyways i think that this post is a great idea. we need to keep each other motivated for those fabulous wedding pics that will be on the wall FOREVER!!!

Kat

Starting weight 65.1

Week 1 - -2.3kg = 62.8 (2.3 lost)

Week 2 - +0.2 = 63 not happy (2.1 lost)

Week 3 - -500g = 62.5 grrrrr its so frustrating (2.6 lost)

Week 4 - -1kg exactly!!= 61.5  finally (3.6 lost)

Week 5 - no loss = 61.5 (at least it isnt a gain)

Week 6 - -800g = 60.7 (4.4 lost)

Week 7 - no loss = 60.7

Week 8 - plateau

Week 9 - plateau (joined gym to shift it)

Week 10 - No weigh in went to gym instead, home scales say 60 (5.1 lost)

Thanks Mal

Yep we are only getting one chance at getting this right! and our dresses cost sooo much that we must look our best in them.lol

I would be at goal if I had stuck to the plan when I got engaged in Feb, but here I am struggling at the last minute! and I already have my dress  it is a size 14, but realistically in our sizing it has to be about a 12 or small 12.

Lets be strong together and make this and even better day in our lives!

Hi Girls....

I am getting married on September 28th! Only 65 days to go! Very excited! I dont have a problem fitting into my dress, in fact I have the problem of it swimming on me...lol. I have lost 29kg since i bought it....so i think it may be a little big!

Very excited about the wedding, but it is hard dieting when you get stressed. Although at least wedding stuff is a good distraction from food. I wish I had of started this a little earlier so i could be at my goal for the wedding. I have only been on TF since the end of March, but my weight loss seems to have slowed down a little. Its great i think to have a "deadline". Keeps me strong in the weak moments! And of course there is that honeymoon as a reward...woohoo!

You both seems to be doing great too...keep it up.....imagine everyones face when they see you at the end of the aisle!

What are you going to do with your dress, can it be taken in? Nice loss anyway.  Where are you heading for your honeymoon? We are off to NZ, cant wait for that either!

oh boy, this has got me so excited I could keep firing questions all day!

Hi gals,

I am a Bride to Be too!!!  Its great to meet some other gals loosing weight for their weddings!!

I am only on my second week of TF and have heaps to lose, but I have over 8 months so am confident I can do it!

I havent even gone dress shopping yet.  People keep asking me when I am getting my dress and I keep saying "when I get to goal".  I dont mind waiting, and I really dont want to go dress shopping and think OH I look terrible in that dress.

I am also on a great wedding forum and there is a place for lovely larger brides to post.  One of them started a thread asking who regrets not losing weight for their wedding...and 99% of people say they DO regret not losing weight every time they look at their photos.  So that is even more incentive to lose as I know I will also regret it if I dont.

My first mini goal - to weigh below 100kg

me too! me too!

march 1, 2008 is my deadline i've had two fittings for my dress... size has not been determined yet, though the first time i tried on my dress (size 12) it didn't zip up. It now zips half way up... so in 4 weeks i have to go back to determine what size the dress needs to be ordered in.

like a lot of you, i agree, i can't afford to spend $1500 on a dress and look like a rolled roast beef in it. I would absolutely not be happy with myself if i didn't look good in the dress. that may sound superficial, buuuuutt... a wedding is something you do once (hopefully) and i want to do it right. i want to be happy with how i look and feel on the day

so far i have not had too many issues organising things. i really just need to order a cake, the boys' suits and some bonbonierre and i will be done.

good luck to everyone in their journey, and keep us posted

look how many of us there are!!!

The thing about bridal gowns is they make us look small anyway, well all the ones I tried on did. They say go for Princess or A line if you are bigger.

Dresses can take 4 months to order in so dont leave it too much longer to start looking.

When I tried mine on it was way too small but is alot closer now, I have posted a pic in inspiration of how much the zip has to go (not the whole dress! just the zip). I am going to try it on again next week after b2b and post a pic of the difference.

I have everything ordered and booked, just need to make final choices on flowers, cake, menu.... hmmm still lots to do lol.

Our bridesmaid dresses I ordered online from the states, and I have got to say I am very happy. With freight the dresses cost $133au and would have cost around $300 here. They arrived within weeks too so if anyone would like to check out the site (1000's of dresses) just google the rose dress and it will be one of the top ones.
