| i was blown away with this post i have never before read information about PCOS that actually made sense. i have copied it and sent it to my mother as she never understood what i tried to tell her. yes i have PCOS and i also have under active tyroid. when i first was told at 18 i was ok what ever and then a few years later after going on a diet and losing about 10 kg i found myself pregnant while on the pill. but it didn't stick. then 7 years ago i went on another diet and was also taking the pill. as i was preparing to get married. yes the wedding was bought forward. i was 23 weeks the day we got married. i had a baby boy and then went back on the pill. and with in 6 months i was pregnant again. i had a baby girl. then i had another scan on my ovaries and there was a problem. the lady doing the scan got up set and she told me how sorry she was. she said it was real bad. i only have one ovary. they didn't think i would be able to have children. (little did they know). now i have my 3 rd baby a little girl. 22 aug 2005. so with PCOS, under active tyroid and only one ovary and on the pill you still can get pregnant. we didn't try to have a baby. it was like, oh i don't feel well, got o the doctor and she never did a test just sent me for a scan first up and i was always around 18-10 wks. so good luck. just do what ever you have to do. maybe i was just lucky. i don't know. but I'm very grateful for the kids i have. even if i didn't get the options of saying 'were trying to conceive a baby'. jodieelee

I have PCOS - but I am one of the lucky ones I was diagnosed after the birth of my first child. The second was difficult to conceive - but we got there after an ectopic pregnancy and with the help of clomid. It has taken a while but I seem to have it under control, possibly mainly due to being satisfied with two children. I am managing the unwanted hair growth and aiming to get the weight under control with the help of tf. The naturapath at the chemist where I weigh in has also been helpful with suggestions.

erinlachie, I was fortunate enough to fall pregnant on my first cycle of clomid. It was five years ago, and I don't have a good memory of all the details. I think I was just glad to have fallen pregnant and carried to term and to now have a beautiful 4y.o daughter that I have well and truly forgotten about the daily routine of clomid and charting temperatures etc.

| Hi I too have just had my 3rd child (on 6 December 2005). Trying to conceive our first child I was diagnosed with PCOS. This was after I had previuosly asked my GP for an answer as to why I was putting on a number of kgs after every period (I put on 30kg in 2 years, going from a size 12 to 18 - devastating as I LOVE clothes) Miraculously I fell pregnant not too long after the diagnosis. I then thought it would take a while to conceive my second child. This was not the case. I had lost 10kg and basically fell pregnant immediately. Our little suprise - child No. 3 - Levi was conceivd after a 10kg weightloss as well. Unfortunately I have put the weight back on after every occasion. My most successful weightloss was prior to conceiving my 3rd, where I followed the Sandra Cobolt Syndrome X strategies. Having read the book I sought a naturpath of her recommendation. I maintained the weightloss for a year until I got pregnant. On a postive side I actually gained 20kg during my pregnancy but lost 10 immediately, so I am back to where I started prior to getting pregant. I was SOOO suprised when I read the concepts of this program as it supports my research for dealing with the underlying issues of PCOS. Could I suggest that if anyone is interested in reading very concise information on PCOS to visit www.insulitelabs.com. as it is easy to undertand and summarises issues such as insulin resistance. One of the posts suggested contacting the nauturapath.......I concur with this suggestion as there are so many issues with PCOS that need addressing (such as repair cell receptors - the average person has 20 000 where as a person with PCOS has only 5000 - "insulitelabs")......basically you eat carbs, carbs turn to glucose which is meant to enter you cells to give you energy, however, with PCOS the cells are incapable of accepting the glucose and it stores as fat. This is only one of the aspects..... All I can say is I am jumping out of my skin with excitement over this progam.......it makes sense and confirms the extensive research of have undertaken over the years...compiling piece by piece of the PCOS puzzle. Keep it going girls and remember, if your doctor gives you no hope, listen to those who have PCOS and have successfully conceived. Cheers JenO Start: 95.7 Week 1 - lost 1.2kg and 10cm from waist (a good sign that this works on PCOS weight gain - Yeah) Currently 94.5 - early days, but very excited
Pinklady

Start Weight: 95.7 31 January 2006 Week 1: 1.2kg Week 2: 0.4kg Week3: 0.7kg Week 4: 1.7kg Week 5: 0.4kg Week 6: 0.8kg Week 7: 0.8kg Week 8: 1kg
