Hi, I know you are both on the loss journey again but I was wondering on a typical maintenance day what would your meals and snacks consist of??

I know it is all relative to the individual and in 5.6 kilos time I will go and have my maintenance appointment but I am just curious.

Thanks

Val

Breaky....porridge or Low GI Cereal
mid morning...fruit
lunch: great big salad sandwich on multi grain bread with protein of your liking (I love those tiny tins of tuna in springwater) I don't use butter or marg...
mid arvo..fruit
tea...protein and vegetables/salad I keep my tea the same as when I was on the diet, have got used to it,,,I save the spuds/rice/pasta for when I go out so it becomes a treat..
dessert...diet jelly topped with a mixture of ricotta/fruche/gelatin that has been blended together and then poured over the jelly...(I'm happy to give exact recipe)

did that help?

I'm basicaly the same as mally but I don't have bread at lunch just a big salad with avo and salmon ( tinned )

I have yogurt as an avo snack with fruit .. loads of jelly still

I do have a bit of sweet potato not every night but I don't have pasta and rice or normal potato

I have weetbix high bran with skim milk for brekkie some times fruit not always thou ..thats my down fall too much fruit .. maybe too much yogurt ... and dressing

Oh and some times I have grated lite cheese in my salad instead of avo

but I'm still off the carbs as such cause my dr says it better for my candida ..

Thanks, I thought you would be having more carbs than you are. It seems that the only carbs were at lunch, is there a provision for carbs at lunch and dinner, I am curious as I am trying to sort out how I am going to manage when I go to ingapore and Malaysia, especially being a noodle and rice eating country.

Thanks

Val

Hi val, On the maintenance plan they do for you they will tell you how many servings of carbs/protein etc you can have in a day & then it is up to you. I find that most of my days I have the carbs for brekkie & lunch but we don't have them often for dinner, just sometimes like last night we had a small serve of rice. I find that if I have an extra fruit it is no prob but I have to watch the other carbs too because it is the quickest way fo rmy weight to go up. But as I said you will have an allocation for carbs and it will be based on your goal weight & it will be up to you when you have them in your day & you will work out what is best for you.

What Klutzy said is right, they work out your protein serves, fat serves, dairy serves, etc., by your weight that you want to maintain at....I eat what I find works for me, porridge/cereal is also a carb, along with my sandwich/fillings and my sweets topping....then if I go out I do eat more carbs and drink wine LOL it all balances out....

energy...7315kjls
carbs...150.6
protein...48.8
fat...39.5
calcium serves...3 1/2 (gives me 1000mg)

help??
