Hi,

I think the 10,000 steps a day challenge sounds good.  Just wandering I'm up for suggestions of ways I could be involved too, since I am wheelchair bound, hehe.  I'm open for suggestions!

Thanks,

Ames

Count me in as of tomorrow!

Ames I'm sure there's something you can do?  Do you use alot of upper body to move around?  Maybe you could put a pedometor on your chest area and see if it records your movements. (I'd borrow one from someone to try this).   Or put one on your arms?  I'm taking a stab here!  Sorry.

Ainslie

Miss-K, I usually walk for about hour and a half (think its 6 - 8km) to get my steps, but then usually get the rest just doing housework etc and chasing after my girls!

Hi Ames, good on you for still wanting to try something!  I don't know the full extent of why you are in a wheelchair so don't know exactly what mobility you have.  As mentioned before, can you do some arm work?  Maybe lifting hand weights for example.  I assume it won't add up steps for you but anything that gets your heart rate going would certainately help.
Let us know how you go, it will be good to share your ideas with someone else that may be in the same boat!
Good Luck

Hmmmmm this 'bonus' pedometer I got with my scales doesn't seem too good.  It's fallen off me twice (once unnoticed for god knows how long) and it seems to have broken (won't close now flapping all around).  Not impressed.  Love the scales though.

I tried to get my old pedometor to work last night, I was going to put the batteries of this one in it but hubby thinks it's broken.

I think I need to buy another....     Sorry guys.
