Thank you for your query regarding exercise on the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program (TFWP). Exercise is an important component of a healthy lifestyle. It has MANY benefits to health, one of which makes our bodies better at using fat as a source of fuel. The TFWP has the same effect in that it reduces the amount of insulin we need and makes fat easier to burn and harder to store. Therefore it is not necessary to exercise to lose weight on our program. We at TF recognise that there are some people who are unable to exercise or who are physically restricted and for this reason exercise is NOT a compulsory part of the TFWP. However, it makes sense to combine a healthy eating program with physical activity. Walking is a great activity to be incorporated into your healthy lifestyle program. Maximise your opportunities during the day by building in some activity where possible: take the stairs rather than the lift, park your car further away from the shops, take the washing to the clothes line in three trips rather than one! Be creative and enjoy movement in your day. Remember, before undertaking any exercise program please consult your doctor, gym or personal trainer.
