Treats & the Program The optional treat serves are an important part of the weight loss journey. They provide a reward or simply “that little something” that you look forward to each week. We have attempted to provide a range that is not only enjoyable but also controlled because the most important aspect of any life change is education and the learning of new habits. The key to the Program, that I know many of you can attest to, is that it is easy to follow and a large part of this is due to the controlled nature of the Program. There is a huge selection of foods out there, which is part of the reason knowing what to eat can be confusing. We want to limit the choices you have to make each day so you can learn the basics about healthy eating and lose weight in that process. Once you have mastered the basics, the next step is the maintenance phase where you are exposed to a wider range of foods and using the knowledge you have obtained, you are better equipped to make the right choices. It is fantastic to see that so many of you are reading the nutrition labels of foods as this is a skill for life that will help you to keep the weight off in the long run. We have provided a list of allowable treats for you to select from and if you chose to deviate from that list, it is your personal choice. When selecting treats: - Energy (kJ / Cal): 300-350 kJ / 70-85 Cal (equal to the average fruit serve)
- Low GI
- Low carbohydrate: Less than 10g
We are here to support and guide you in your personal weight loss journey.
