Dear Customers, Thank you for your enquiry. In response to your question, you cannot do the program whilst you are pregnant or breastfeeding as there are not enough nutrients in the two shake a day program to sustain both mother and baby. Expecting mothers need more energy, carbs, calcium, iron, folate and much more to ensure that they deliver healthy babies. The world health organisation recommends that a woman needs 8000kj to maintain her weight. Pregnant women need approximately 1300kj more than this per day. The same applies to breastfeeding / lactating mothers. When you are breastfeeding you need to receive adequate and balanced nutrition for the sake of her baby’s health as well as her own. Otherwise, she risks depleting her body’s nutritional stores. When a breastfeeding mother loses weight rapidly, the toxins produced during ketosis may be released in to her bloodstream and the toxin level in her milk may increase and make her baby ill. Once you have given birth and have stopped breastfeeding completely then you can go back on to the program. If you decide not to breastfeed or have tried it and decided against it may commence weight loss on the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program from 6 weeks after their baby’s birth (natural or caesarian) AND once they have had the all clear from their health care provider (doctor, gynecologist etc) at their first post natal (post birth) check up (approximately 6 weeks after birth). We also warn that Simply Fibre contains red clover and cannot be had while pregnant. Please also be aware that our Simply Balanced contains vitamin A so you should also speak with your doctor about a suitable multi vitamin to take during pregnancy.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, Shorty - Tony Ferguson Staff Weightloss Practitioner Maintenance Consultant
