Hi all, I am a returning member, returning with more weight than before of course! When I started TF the last time I weighed in at 69kgs, I am now 79 Anyway, my current weight has given me determination and a resigned sense that I cant afford to live in denial anymore, so it is time to bust my lard for good. I havent been this heavy since I had my daughter nearly five years ago Bah... I have been thinking to myself alot lately about the things that differ in everyday life depending on your weight and I have decided to write them down because although some are gross...I think we all know about these things. I would also like to encourage everyone to add your own Things You Hate About Being Fat. So here we go....... 1. I hate the way my thighs rub painfully together when freed from pants....they seem almost magnetised...drawn into a passionate, sweaty embrace with each other. To release them from their chaffing inducing madness, I would have to walk with my feet spread about a meter apart, always a good look in the shopping centre! 2. Weird jiggly back fat! It isn’t bad enough that we get fat rolls on our stomachs…Noooooo, our backs need to join in the wobble fest, eewww! 3. The sit down or lay down spread. When standing, I can arrange my bulk so as not to scare small children and wildlife…however, the moment I ease my oversized arse into a chair my thighs suddenly seem at least twice the size, not to mention the oozing of flesh through the gaps in the side of the chair!! In the evening I arrange myself comfortably in bed, only to discover that I suddenly have many arm rests… when laying on my back my flattened bum and thighs create a peninsula which can be used to rest hands, or cups on, or they could even serve as a emergency pillow for hubby if he ever lost his. 4. Ok, prepare yourself for a really gross one….. Sweaty bum crack (oh God! I hear you say, She goes to far! ) But lets be honest people…when you have large lumpy buttocks smashing against each other all day, not a lot of air gets to those places….Imagine if you will, two baby (or maybe teenage) seals wrestling with each other all day long, there is going to be two slimy and stinky little seals to contend with….hehehehe! 5. Bingo wings, or Secondary Wave as we call them, because when you wave to someone, your upper arms continue flapping joyously long after your hand has stopped! 6. Fat In Places You Wouldn’t Expect. This is one thing that really bugs me…fat that hangs around in places that should really be out of bounds…such as fingers, I am truly scared at BBQ’s that the cook is going to smash my hand onto the hot plate before they realise that, no, they are not sausages, they are my fingers. Another place fat should not go is joints such as elbows, knee’s and ankles….it begins to look like your fat has turned cannibalistic and intent on devouring each place where there should be bone. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed those…. Please add more, I think it helps to focus on why we are losing weight when we see all the things we hate about being fat! LOVELOVELOVE….Zoe (aka Apple79)

| I agree with all of your points Zoe, especially No. 1 - the rubbing of the legs, drives me crazy especially in the warmer months although nearly 20kgs down im noticing a difference. My only query is when we are at goal do you think we will still have the overweight walk? (You know the one that looks different 'cause your legs rubbed together??) or is it just me. I notice i have it atm, and i seen a friend from behind the other day walking in front of me and she has lost 40kgs and still walks differently, all thoughts welcome.

| hi Vicki, not sure about the walk.... When I was thin I was very aware that I still had the "fat walk" so I kind of taught myself to walk with my knees pointing forward instead of out! I can still walk like this now, however, I get that horrible "squeee squeee" noise as my thighs rub together in my pants! I find that noise quite embarrasing! I'm sure however that when we are all slim and sexy, the walk will take care of itself LOVELOVELOVE....Zoe

ROFLAO oh my, they are all so true and sooo funny to read, but not funny to go thru, be assured with the walk my thighs used to rub terribly, now i have almost a gap and i still cant believe it, its such a nice feeling not having the constant chaffing, so look forward you'll be there soon

| Hi, I would like to join in this discussion. I am often worried about where the extra skin goes when you do reduce your fat. Does it also flatten when you have had such a big stomach for a few years? I am going to Curves fitness and weightloss centre, but my stomach seems to be going no where in a hurry. I am losing centimetres from my arms, bust and thighs, my hips and stomach are being overlooked. Cheers Christina

| Yeah, not being able or having the energy to play with my nearly 5 year old daughter is pretty sad for me. We live about three houses away from our local park and I have to admit that even thinking about going there makes me tired! I hate that! I have a friend who has lost alot of weight and she definately has a big flap of skin on her tummy, we call it her apron! However, she agreed with me that she would rather have the flap than the big pile of fat that used to live in it...at least when she wears her clothes you wouldnt know it was there. She does want to have surgery to correct it one day but she is going to wait untill after she has kids (which is now possible thanks to her weight loss as she has PCOS) another huge benefit of weight loss And even if there is a bit of loose skin left at the end of the journey its a better option than lugging around a lardy body that feels horrible! Nobody if perfect, but remember that if you have the means and the motivation, there will always be a plastic surgeon ready and waiting to stretch and stitch us back into shape!! Nothing wrong with doing that either....I fully intend to have my boobs done one day, I dont want them bigger, just pre-fat and pre-baby! I love that people are contributing their ideas to this thread....lets keep on counting the things we hat about being fat!!!! Lovelove Zoe
