Hey everyone, if there are any canberrans or visitors who can add to this, please do. It might help someone visiting or starting the program.

Belucci's Woden - AVOID! Italian food is very rich and carb-loaded, and the only thing on their menu that looks TF-friendly is in fact creamy.

APK - AVOID!! Duh, Australian Pizza Kitchen, they have nothing.

Babar's Civic - One or two dishes there only, scotch fillet w/ veg instead of mash. But they're happy to help.

Oriental Kitchen Civic - Apart from being the BEST asian food I have ever found in Canberra, they have a few dishes that are quite ok. I had the beef black pepper hot pot recently which may have been a little heavy on the thickening agent and salt, but pretty friendly for an out-dish. Also they do greens in oyster sauce and steamed greens. No entrees though!!

Hi there, I live in Canberra. There are a few places that have some good options in Civic. One is chicken gourmet, they do a tandoori chicken salad with spanish onion and mixed lettuce which is yummy, which you can have without the sauce. Also the Charcoal Grill Restaurant, they do delicious fillet steaks, which are about a palm sized piece of protein and every steak comes with a side of cooked veges (cauliflower, brocolli and carrots) with herbs. Also Sumo Salad upstairs at the Canberra Centre near borders have a low GI chicken salad. That's all I can think of for now, I'll keep my eyes peeled for some more options : )

Most of the clubs are happy to do grilled meat/chicken with steamed veges . Stay away from the salad bar though.. all carbs and cream.

At the Magpies club in Kippax a few weeks ago, I got their burger with the lot.. minus breadroll.. with extra salad. It was HUGE (mostly salad) and soooo good. Maybe too much protein.. with the meat and I got the egg (but no bacon) but it was a great alternative for going to the club. Could have been sooooooooooo much worse!

I was very unimpressed with the Burns Club at Kambah who omitted sauce like I asked that's with a chicken breast and took out the baked potato only for me to be served a teeny tiny (I'm talking matchboxed size) breast dry as! with one piece of overcooked broccoli.  Come on!  I would have thought I'd get extra veggies considering I wasn't having sauce OR baked spuds.  It was such a waste of money.

I did like the Ali Baba salad I got with chicken,  although it was pretty small.

i went to charnwood labour club and simply requested steak and salad, no dressing and it was delicious.  i can't imagine why you can't do this everywhere you go.
