Fantastic!! You look and I'm sure you feel so much healthier!! How did you stick to it for so long? After a couple of weeks I usual fall apart on the weekends - very slack! Any tips for staying focused for so long?

Hi Rob

I'm soooooooooo impressed!   Thanks for the great story.   To see how you've achieved success is a great inspiration.  You sound as if it wasn't really too hard doing it with the Tony Ferguson program.  I suppose you'd tried lots of other ways until you came across this.

I'm actually 61 and 117kg; never been this heavy in my life and am desperately scared I'm going to keep on putting on weight.  I'm a nurse, but had a back injury last December which has had me housebound and then shingles which had me bedridden.   Now my back has improved a lot but my work won't put me back onto heavy nursing duties and they have no light ones to offer either.  So I'm really run-down physically; need to start getting out of the house and doing a little bit of walking each day and need to take off all the extra kilos I've packed on this year - around 10 of them - and even at 107 kg I considered myself far too heavy.   I want to get down to 65 which means a 52 kg loss; but have tried so many times and always get defeated and put on more so am very anxious and nervous about trusting myself to this program.  Your comments will be appreciated.   Thanks a lot,  Joee.

Thanks everyone for some more great feedback!!

Gaily Whaly, I guess I fully committed myself to losing the weight and strictly stuck to the program.  The weight kept coming off, so that helped keep my motivation and momentum going.  When I first started the program I decided to commit a year of my life to losing weight, after all, it took me 30+ years to put on the weight, what's one year of my life to try to improve my health!!!  Food is only food, whether it's a shake, soup, salad, vege or greasy hamburger, it's only food!

Joee, I'm sorry to hear about your bad back and shingles, how painful!  I was able to lose 33kg's without exercise, so it can still be done.  We also have customers in wheelchairs who successfully lose weight by sticking to the program.  Hopefully you will be able to do this as well.  I never tried any other weight loss programs.  I did try to lose weight by reducing soft drink and bread, but as I was too heavy for my scales and I wore elastic waisted clothing, I couldn't really gauge if it was working.  Please feel free to PM me if you would like further advice.

Nothing would please me more than being able to inspire and motivate people to improve their health and lifestyle before it's too late.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to convince my older brother to lose some weight and very sadly, he passed away suddenly of a suspected massive heart attack 10/11/08 - he was morbidly obese.  Many of his friends had also tried to encourage him to lose some weight like I did, but he wasn't ready to try.  I guess I wouldn't have wanted to lose weight if people asked/told me to, I had to be ready for myself.  The comforting thing for me is that he died a happy man and very quickly, so shouldn't have suffered too much but he was only 46 years old and should have had a long life ahead of him.  RIP Stan!

I hope I have answered everyone's questions, but I'm a bit sleep deprived at the moment, so please let me know if I have missed something.

hi Rob, again your weight loss is INCREDIBLE!!

i am very sorry to hear about your brother. may he rest in peace.

i have quite a few family members who are morbidly obese as well but they won't listen to anyones advice. they think they'll live forever on fast food, cigarettes and alcohol. it is very sad.

but so wonderful to see that you were sucessful with your weight loss goals and you truly are an inspiration. you and Z both!

Rob, i am 43 and have a MASSIVE amount of weight to lose. seeing your pictures has just blown my mind as to what COULD be.. and like you say.. giving yourself a year to lose weight literally SAVED your life.

my condolences to you and your family over the loss of your brother. it must have been heartbreaking for you, especially after your successes but like you say.. you really have to do it for YOU and not for anyone else.

Also was interested to see your post on the cost of surgey as i imagine thats something i shall need. Not sure i could afford it though as not in health cover, but as you say the benefits of losing the weight and becoming so much healthier still outweigh ( no pun intended) the downside of excess skin.

congratulating you on what you have accomplished just doesnt seem enough, but i hope you take comfort and pride in knowing how much your story gives to others in similar circumstances. you are literally saving lives!! well done!!!

i am going to be visiting your pics alot to remind me WHY i am starting this journey and to keep me focused on what the light at the end of the tunnel could reveal for me.

thankyou doesnt seem to be enough but thanks, Rob, for showing me what COULD be my future!!

cheers

Maria

Hey all....

Rob thank you so much for posting.  I actually bought the magazine and read your article and darned near had eyes popping out.  You deserve all the acolades you are getting because damn gurl, your looking good.

I am also comforted to know that my suspicion of reduction surgery is involved. I knew it would be in the mix. I don't supposed anyone in this thread is willing to share the sort of costs involved and where they went or are going?

Maybe I am jumping the gun but I just want to know what I'm in for

Again, Rob, you look marvelous.  Good for you....I can't imagine how you feel now looking back at how you were.

What an amazing woman you are, and what an inspiration
