Who uses a fibre supplement and which one? How do you find your body responds to it? Do you like the taste or do you have a few secrets on how to disguise the taste?

I use benefibre daily, as it is soluble and an easy (and glug-free) way to get my daily fibre intake. I usually add this to my jelly if I'm not eating the TF brand, or in a glass of water.
I use simply fibre (or psyllium husk) occasionally for cooking, e.g. making notato croquettes.

I tried having simply fibre in my shakes every day, but I got really tired of it quickly. And through winter I heated my shakes in the microwave, which doesn't work with the simply fibre added.

I am a user of benefibre to. I have it in my decaf coffee every morning.

I don't like the other ones as they are really gluggy.

I take psyllium husk in a capsule daily, and use Simply Fibre as a coating for fish.

I used to put Simply Fibre in my shakes when I first started, but found that it added a cardboard taste to the shakes, and didn't enjoy the gritty feeling towards the end of the shake.

I use Benefibre and use Simply Fibre for cooking only. Each time I have used Simply Fibre is has caused very loose bowels, I guess it takes some getting used to.

Hi

I use the TF Simply Fibre, when I took the 2 capsules a day recommended to me upon joining, nothing - nado. I was kinda clogged for days. If I take 5-6 a day (the maximum recommendation) and LOADS of water, again recommended I know - then everything 'works'. I've also tried not using the fibre and keeping my water up - that seems to work as well.

I prefer to pop a handful of capsules, I've opened the caps and mixed in an omelette before and that doesn't seem to affect the taste, infact it makes it quite nice and fluffy! But in the shakes, it distorts the taste too much to enjoy.

Overall I don't find the extra fibre very beneficial. I find if I'm taking in over 3 cups of vege's a day and a couple of pieces of fruit then the 'roughage' is there. Cutting out bread/flour etc. is not necessarily good fibre.

Greens work well :O)

Hi everyone,

I use the Simply Fibre and it has made a HUGE difference for me, I was constantly having trouble using my bowels (sorry if it's too much information LOL ) but now I add the recommended dose to my morning shake and everythings fine. Yes it does thicken the shake up a bit, but I prefer it that way as it gives it bulk and keeps me fuller for longer. I dont feel that it changes the flavour that much at all for me.

LOVE the new mag by the way!! wish it came out more often!

Hugs

I take 2 tspns of the fibre in a glass of water every morning and gulp it down. It's not the best texture and tastes a bit like grass clippings, but then it's over and my shake tastes extra good.

I was using the Simply Fibre to start with but when that ran out I was a little broke so I bought a bag of psyllium husks from the supermarket and added a few teaspoons of that to my shakes instead. Worked fine. Then when that ran out I bought a bag of psyllium husks and a bag of oat bran and mixed them together in a container and now I use a few teaspoons of that in my shakes either once or twice a day. it makes the shakes bulkier which is fine by me and I don't mind the taste and t seems to be doing the trick. It is definatley a cheaper option. Can anyone tell me how it compares to the Simply Fibre??
