I use simply fibre in my shake each morning (the recommended amount) and i really like it, i dont find it changes the flavour for me, i like that the shake is thicker and a little crunchy!

i also use simply fibre for cooking.

WOW not many people like the TF fibre, you think they'd change it. I was glad I said no to the lady at TWC then!!!

I havent bought any fibre as yet...and having that backed up feeling LOL (sorry if TMI). Simply Fibre seems a no-go for me as Princessleia says it has eastrogen in it, which for me is a huge no no.

Looks like Benefibre may be the way to go, where am I able to purchase this from?

I bought Benefibre last week at Coles to give it a try. I tried it on its own with minimal effect. It is wheat dextrose I think (something like that) - it is tasteless and no gluggy hard to get through taste like TF Simply Fibre. I have now started using 1 teaspoon Simply Fibre and 1 teaspoon Benefibre and seems to be okay. Sort of tones the Simply Fibre taste down a bit when I put it in the shakes. It seems to me that the TF shakes are somewhat like baby food - easy to digest. I was told by a community nurse donkey's years ago now that baby's that are breast fed don't need to pass motion every day as the food is complete. They digest most of what they take in. The shakes and all the good food might have the same affect perhaps? I certainly don't suffer any symptons of not going once a day (I'm sorry too if this is TMI) :-(

I like the TF Fibre and add it to my shake. I have banana only and tried it without the fibre once and by golly gosh it was awful! The fibre to me adds another depth in flavour of the shake and also thickens it so I can take my time to enjoy it. YUMMY!!!

I use metamucil in very cold water. Mix it leave it for about 20 minutes and its a bit like orange juice.

Oh yeah I have a hubby too, somewhere in the world.

I use the TF fibre powder and add it to my morning shake and i put icecubes in my shake too with 300mls water and shake the hell out of it... and it doesnt take too much taste away from the shake flavour. i tried it ONCE with just water and couldnt swallow it at all. but i havent added the fibre to anything else, im not game enough to add it to a soup! eek!

Hi

Just thought i should post to let you know that if you are sensitive to hormones or on birth control you should not take red clover. I took the fibre every morning for 9 days then on the 9th day i started spotting, while I was still taking my birth control. I stopped the fibre and it is now day 12 and i am still bleeding (and still taking my active pills). I have been bleeding and cramping for 3 days now, and my internet research tells me that red clover has estrogen in it which can 1. make your pill ineffective, and 2. cause hormonal fluctuations. I have been on this pill for a long time and never had breakthough bleeding before, let alone gushing, while on active pills. I can only attribute this to the red clover.

See this link to webmd for more information about red clover's potential effect on birth control pills and it's other possible side effects.

http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-308-RED+CLOVER.aspx?activeIngredientId=308&activeIngredientName=RED+CLOVER&source=2

I am hoping the bleeding will stop soon but am going to my doctor today to get it checked out. I have also been to see my TF consultant and they have contacted the TF dietician but have not yet had a reply. The pharmacy gave me metamucil instead, which does the same thing without the red clover. The pharmacist also confirmed the red clover is used in HRT which confirms its hormone related properties.

If i had've known there was even a very slight risk with red clover, I would not have taken it. I now have no idea if my birth control is/has been effective, why I am actually bleeding, and I have had to take 2 days off work as the cramping is unbearable.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

On the bright side, I lost 2.3 kg in my first week.

Leigh
