Hey guys. I was wondering about whether frozen or canned fruit and vegetables are okay to use? I have a problem of being obsessive compulsive, so vegetable shopping/cleaning/cooking is a real pain. I have been getting the fresh stuff so far, but it takes ages to prepare it to my insane weirdness. So I was hoping it is allowable to use canned and/or frozen vegetables on a regular basis so I don't always have to deal with preparing the fresh stuff properly. And if it is allowable, is there anything specific on the label to look for?

And don't ask why I can stand canned and frozen foods but not the fresh stuff, because I don't know =p I guess I can just put it out of my mind that the canned stuff has also been handled, whereas I see straight up the other customers handling all of the fresh stuff.

Frozen veges are fine.  Check on the can label to see what else has been added during the canning process.  You need to be careful with sodium levels and carb content.

I use frozen veges all the time.  They are great!  As for canned stuff I use that too but I am careful to check the salt content and what carbs it has in it too.  I use canned tomatoes and champignons (mushrooms) alot.  Be careful with canned fruit as lots of the time they have added sugar to make it sweeter.  Probably ok soemtimes (if you got the low sugar ones) but the fresh fruit might be better and have more fibre as it hasn't been peeled etc.
