I was not going to post because I was ashamed. I have, it seems, been on the weight loss diet cycle for ever! I try one diet, then think 'Oo perhaps that diet will get better results", so jump over to another plan, then think the same again and jump over to another diet and so the cycle begins. I tend to stick to the same three or four and just go round and round, never achieving the weightloss I desperately need and want to achieve. I am not sure if other people do this, but it is seems to be a real pattern for me. Even with TF, when I went back over my past posts, I realised that since March 08, I have tried it no less than five times, and again, here I am.
I have asked myself what it is about dieting and losing weight that makes me 'diet-hop' and truthfully, I don't know. But I do know that of all the diets I have tried (and believe me there are MANY), TF is the one where I have lost weight and have felt energetic doing it.
I have a degenerative spine condition that apparently should only occur in 70 year olds (I am 41). Apparently I was born with a predisposition for it. Currently, I am able to walk, exercise (low impact) and lead a normal life. You would never know I have it and for a large part of the time I forget I have it, to be honest. I was diagnosed with it in Dec 2007 and since then rather than losing the weight, which will vastly improve my chances of long term health, I have actually put on a further 10kgs and this is why I am ashamed. I feel so ashamed that I have been unable to take control of this beast. What has happened is that I have developed incredible pain at night with my back, almost certainly not helped by my weight and this morning, my husband begged me to do something as last night the pain was at an all time high.
So, here I am again, trying to take control of this beast, this weightloss animal that has me in its claws. With nearly 40kgs to lose, I have a way to go, but I guess baby steps at first. one step at a time. I do find inspiration in all your stories and especially the success photos. I scour for people who I believe had a body shape like mine and fanatasize about looking like they look now. I even have a bikini (that has been in cupboard for years!) that I dream of wearing to the beach.
Good luck with your weight loss and I look forward to gaining support and inspiration from the forum.
Take care
Sarah

Hi Sarah, I too am a serial dieter. I jump from one program to another in the hope of finding something that really works. Many have short term results. I lost 34kgs 5 years ago on another program and have only gained 10kgs back in that time, but it's all those other programs that have helped not gain it all back. I'm having a break from the TF at the moment, but I am following one of my others as not to gain the weight back. I'm going back to TF next week for another couple of months. I think that forums such as this have also played a big part in keeping me honest, well sort of ,anyway. It's hard work, but we'll get there in the end! Good luck to you!
cheers

Hi Guys,
Well - I am back after two years, through chronic pain, disappointments and breakups. I don't think I have gained all but am still over 200kg. My Doctor just keep saying get lap banding/bypass- now perimenopause and anxiety is happening. I will learn to embrace it all and love my self, get positive and start back on TF tomorrow.
I am not going to set unrealistic goals. I am going a kilo at a time. I have loads of fluid.
Have started walking in the pool 6 times a week and now is the time to move further forward.
thanks for letting me have somewhere to go.
cheers
Megs
Start waist 163 cm down to 148cm now
29/11/06 155cm 04/12/06 153cm
11/12/06 151cm
BACK 24/11/09 - waist 141cm
1st mini goal to reach under200kg by end of January.
Mini goals to get to my final destination - 15kg lots
