| I like pilates - don't do much of it because I prefer yoga (they are more different than a lot of people think). Pilates will do wonders for core strength and will help with weight loss because it helps with lean muscles and it also lengthens the muscles you do have with the stretching and repetative movements. I would suggest if you have not done it before to sign up at a professional studio - don't just get a dvd or do a class in the local hall, they will not teach you properly. Learn the right way and reap the benefits

| pilates, like yoga is one of those exercises that takes time. You will get more experienced and better at it the more you do it. Could you even make it to one night class that is done by a professional? and then use a dvd. Having the correct instruction will make a massive difference to how it works for you. That hands on approach by a professional who is trained to do it is great. You really only need one or two good lessons to benefit. good luck

| hi I like pilates also but found it wasn't the same as yoga, i enjoy yoga alot more. I brought a wii fit and it is my best investment. You follow an instructor and it lets you know if your doing it wrong, it also has muscle building, aerobic excercises and balance. It rewards you by unlocking new yoga moves etc and keeps a record of your weight loss. You do it at your own pace and the aerobic exercises can be fun, like hula hoop

| I have been using Yogalates. Its fantastic and has the benefit of both pilates and yoga so you get the stretching toning and relaxation. I bought the dvd's from the following website www.yogalates.co.uk. The lady that does it runs her own place in Byron bay! So it's aussie as well. Check it out! Goodluck!

My sister does her classes and says they are great - she also has the dvd's at home because her classes are a bit on the expensive side. The yoga on the wii fit is not a good example of yoga IMO. I have been doing yoga for years and those exercises don't challenge you properly - that and you don't have an instructor to show you the correct posture for each (just a cartoon character telling you). I still suggest to go along to one or two classes to get the posture and movement correct - it is very important to the structure of the exercises and how they work.

lol totally agree with that jodes, the yoga on the wii fit is pretty poor the majority are base poses which are fine but if they are done wrong look out, I also dont think the shoulder stand should be on there, if you dont know what your doing that one can cause serious damage.
