Howdy everyone, it me.....the Stranger who been MIA.

Just can't seem to find the time to have a good sit on here and really get into the posts etc. ankle biters always biting and when they're in bed hubby says he'd like to have 'cuddle time' rather than us each being in separate rooms of the house i.e. TV room/study ...

Well I started the detox last Monday and still going. Been really enjoying all the fruit and veg.
Mostly a bowl of fruit with Linseeds spinkled ontop for breaky along with a small bowl of steamed vegies or left over salad from the night before (been using fresh lemon juice as my dressing), usually fruit and Camomile Tea for morning tea, steamed veg or salad for lunch, frozen raspberries mid afternoon and for dinner has mostly been some sort of Sanitarium Vegie Soy Delight product (sausages/tender fillet etc.) and some salad or vegies. My appetite has decreased dramatically and quite often by dinner time i'm really not hungry at all but make sure I do eat something even if its really small (about 1/2 to 1/3 of my portions when on TF). If I ever decide to get a Decaf coffee i've switched to soy milk and stoped having sweetener.
Have to admit that on Saturday we had my parents over for dinner and couldn't really be bother trying to make some fancy vegetarian meal so opted for some Salmon fillet which I though would be much better than any sort of land animal meat. DId also have one glass of wine - oops.

All in all tho, i'm doing really well. I never expeted to lose heaps and heaps of weight as I only have 8-9kg to go to reach my goal where I would be very slim BMI 22 BUT, the scales have moved down finally so looks like i've butt-kicked the plateau. Not too sure whether i'll go back to TF just yet, feeling so good the way i'm going. It's not hard, I feel like i'm actually eating rather than drinking shakes, my appetite is down so my portions have been cut back and we're even saving money on the shakes and not buying much meat. Might think about haveing a fish/seafood meal 1-2 times a week.

As for "toilet matters" - on TF although I was drinkin 2.5L a day and taking Benefibre, I wasn't regular at all. I can't say that I'm heaps heaps better now but I find that I really have to have my raspberries and that seems to do the job.

I honestly feel great and my stomach is flatter and clothes are definitely a tad looser. Will post my new weight on Friday sometime.

Sooooooo sorry for the long post but hope that some of you find it interesting and a confirmation of San's comments and experience with it!

Cheers,
Michele

Hey Suzi Kat stay away from that bread   My sister was telling me that cutting back on carbs makes your cheek bones stand out!  Even if not through losing weight as such, just a general 'less bloating' thing.  Apparently it's to do with inflamation - kinda makes sense.

Lilshell - So glad you're feeling fab on detox.  Can't wait to see the scales nudge down for you.  I must get back into it.  It felt so CLEAN and I had a tonne more energy.  I eat alot of those soy/tofu thingy's as well and I have regular soy milk on my cereal in the mornings.

... that's about all I did that was good today - cereal/soy - Must make conscious effort to eat clean again.  At least for 10 days!

Hey Guys

Can someone please help me with the detox?...

So what veges and fruit arn't you allowed to have??...and Im assuming you can eat as much of  all the others as you want??..

Also what nuts and extras can you have?...Can you have any dairy?

Have just had a quick look at the site and there seems to be quite a few different ones to follow...which one did you guys follow?...

Was thinking of starting tomorrow for the next 3 days over the weekend(couldnt cope with any headaches at work atm) ...thats prob my limit though not sure if i could cope longer than that

Thanks

Jen

Hey Jen

I didn't see this until now... sorry WEEKS later lol.

This is the Tony Robbins 10 Day Challenge.  The first post tells you what I was eating.

The 'true' detox is pretty much vegan - there's no eggs, fish, poultry, meats, dairy etc...

I tried that once with a friend of mine and we crashed and burned lol.   When I do this detox I introduce seafood and one big blob of yoghurt a day - it keeps me sane

An abundance of fruit and vege's - any kind you like - don't worry about GI etc... the only this is to go easy on Banana's and of course keep of potatoes.

I eat loads of berries - strawberries, frozen blueberries, raspberries, melon, pineapple.  vege's or salads - as much as I need.  Seafood - fresh fish, scallops, prawns.... yum!

I've even had a bit of surimi and still lost a huge amount of weight - even though it's processed rubbish (not good).

The idea is to alkalise your body.  There's no alcohol of course, so fizzy drinks etc...

Basically if you keep the diet as PURE as possible you will succeed.

ps... I have muesli with soy milk and a blob of natural yoghurt for breakfasts, followed by fresh grapefruit juice (just cos I have a HUGE tree of them!) the rest of my day is unprocessed.

Join me :O)

Hi San

I am SO up for the 10 day challenge. I started yesterday - was a model challenger all day until I nipped over to friends for a barbie for dinner. I had lovely salad, but also a teeny bit of lamb and one sausage (bbq snaggers are impossible to resist!), oh and a glass of bubbly. Anyhoo, in the grand scheme of things that was a much better day of eating than I've been doing lately. So I'm happy.

So far so good today - hot lemon juice first thing in the morning (had to sneak down to my neighbour's to set free a couple of lemons from her tree :Whistling then a banana, for lunch a lovely big salad. For my dinner, I'm planning a stirfry (or "stir poach" as I don't use oil!) with lots of vegies and some fish. I'm feeling strong and I'm not thinking about the emergency stash of chocolate I've hidden far far away ...

Hope your day is going well. I remember how great you felt last time - your excitement about the challenge was just zinging off the screen. In the words of Obama "Yes we can!".

 Hey Ladies

Thats ok San I ended up following the plan for 3 days (pretty much did what u did but I didn’t do any meat/fish) and went back to TF on the 4th day could have kept going but didn’t think the time was right for me to do a 10 day stint with what’s going on at work…next time

Was wondering about nuts/pumpkin seeds are they ok??

I agree Wishful… Sans excitement was bursting through the screens last time she did this…you felt so well San…that’s what I found as well… it makes you feel alive I think its all the yummy fruit you eat…Great quote there wishful ‘yes we can'…maybe we need to start a challenge called that next time?… THE YES WE CAN CHALLENGE lol…

Haha don’t touch the chocolate stash wishful will only cause you grief …

Anyway ladies Good Luck and all the best... will keep popping in to see how everything’s going..

OLooh noooo - I'm not bursting today! I had 1/4 of a donut this morning :O)   The team I've started working with held a morning tea for me and there was nothing healthy at all.. not a bean!   I felt very obliged to have something even though I honestly wasn't hungry.

I don't have lunch at work since I finish at 1 / 1.30pm and since coming home I've had a nibble on seafood and a blob of natural yoghurt.

Was going to have fish today, have a fillet and also have some fresh mussels to snack on mmmm... BUT, my niece is having drama's and she's coming over to stay and guess what - she HATES seafood aaaargh.  So it's chicken tonight now afterall, ah well... could have been a whole lot worse.

Looking forward to finding some energy in the next 2-3 days or so.  Right now I'm aching and feel quite revolting.  Arthritis is giving me big time grief but I'm hoping thatll come right in a few days time with good drugs and plenty of fresh fruit/vege!

Weight today - 136.3kg - 100gm more than yesterday ****waaaaa, but I was SO good yesterday

Ahhh well, one day at a time - I know overall it will all come together and I'll be energised :O)

Wishful stay with it, never mind the Bbq it's hard when you socialise but at least you didn't wash down the wine with a big bowl of trifle

Good luck for tomorrow - BE STRONG

....Jen, like the idea of the YES WE CAN Challenge - I think my Gawd one played on my psyche as I gained.... ooopsi

Howdy

Day 3 is going well so far. Have been 100% perfect - if I follow San's rules for sanity as I had some Forme' yoghurt! Haven't quite worked out what I'll have for dinner - but I'm in the zone so even though I'm not organised, I reckon I will stay on track. My skin and eyes are looking a bit brighter already, and the scales are being friendlier.

Jen - thanks for popping in - it's good to have support. Great idea for the next challenge "YES WE CAN"

San - bugga about work being nice and putting on a morning tea for you. I am so over not being able to fully enjoy social occasions because there is the eternal "I shouldn't really be eating or drinking this" dilemma. I just want this weight gone because I can't remember the last time I ate out without feeling guilty. I want to get to goal, have the lessons about moderation burned into my brain, and just feel happy and confident about my eating choices. YES WE CAN!!

Hope your evening with your niece goes OK - it's good she's got you for her confidant.

Here's to a good day tomorrow
