Hey all...

I was a member of TF about a year and a half ago, I lost 20kg but then had to start travelling for work (6 weeks in Europe for training). It's been extremely hard to stick to a proper diet since then and I put the weight back on.

About a month ago I decided to get back on it... so far I've lost about 10kg. The diet actually suits my lifestyle at the moment because I only have to worry about one meal a day

This week, I've started walking at nights after I finish work. Monday I did a 4.6km walk (took about an hour). Tuesday I did 3.5km... last night was 2.5 as my legs where already very sore. My goal is to get to a 5km walk by the end of the week

My problem at the moment is that I seem to have developed a strange red "bumpy" rash on both my forearms in the last couple of weeks. I've been reading around and have seen that there are two possible causes;

- vitamin deficiency
- yeast infection due to ketosis

I'm guessing it's probably the first since I haven't been on any vitamin suppliments this time. I was thinking of trying the Swisse Ultivites, does anyone here know how good they actually are? I have a friend who swears by them

Cheers

Cheers

I spoke to my sister about it last night (she's a nurse) and she seems to agree that it's more then likely a combination of contact dermatitis and a vitamin deficiency. I believe the suspect is a desk I had to use at a customer site, spoke to them yesterday and turns out it hasn't been cleaned properly in god knows how long.... I tend to type on my laptop with my forearms resting on the desk. So that caused the original infection but the deficiency seems to have allowed it to happen (I've used this desk before the diet without issue)

I'm curious about one thing... everytime I've gone into a TF centre, I've never seen another guy doing the program. Doesn't seem to be many on here either... I'm guessing I am in the minority

Yep, there are a few guys on here and they've done really well though you are the minority among the ladies.........I still see men weighing in at TF sometimes when I'm there.

Good luck with your journey

WOW a filthy desk was the culprit I personally clean my desk and keyboard so that I know it has been cleaned!  Meanwhile I am yet to see a fella at my centre too but I do know that in Warrnambool there is a male consultant

There are also more lads logging on for support and general chatter which is good.  Maybe you can get them all in the one post???

My last week hasn't been the best, I came down with a pretty bad reaction to the dust storm which kept me inside most of the week. I made the mistake of going for a walk Wednesday night and ended up coming down with a chest infection from the remaining dust in the air

So with that in mind, I'm quite shocked to find out on Sunday that I lost exactly 2kg this week

Now sitting at 117.8kg, which means I've lost 12.6kg in 5 weeks and 16.5cm off my waist

At this rate, I should easily meet my target of 99kg by xmas

I guess my fitness levels must be slowly improving. I reversed my normal walking route last night (hits the biggest hill UPHILL instead of down). I also walked past my usual "turn around" point

In the end I calculated that I covered 4.5km (usually around 3.5).... but more importantly, I did it in the same time as usual for the shorter distance. So even though I felt like I was "going slow", I was actually just finding the walk "easier" (believe me, the hill still killed my calves haha)

I can't walk as often as I would like at the moment... working long hours and I really need to buy a good pair of walking shoes... each time I come back from a good walk, the soles of my feet are bruised / blistered haha

I missed my weight in last week because I was interstate with business... however I weighed in on Sunday. I'm now down to 114.7kg, so a loss of 3.1kg over two weeks.

My average is now around 1.5-1.7kg a week, which means I should reach my 99kg goal by xmas easily

I've started to incorporate more weights into my routine as well now. I've only done this for a few days, but once the weights start going up I'm going to have to start having more protein in my diet to help my body recover and rebuild
