Hi Everyone

Today has been a better day eating wise. Apart from a slight glitch last night at a barbie (I defy anyone to resist a bbq snagger! ooh and a glass of bubbly ... ), I have been a model "10-day challenger". Two days down, 8 to go and I'm feeling much more positive.

San - I am so there for the 10 day challenge - I've posted to the other thread. Lots of good reasons to take ourselves in hand, and get ourselves to a better place. Sounds like Tiny's funeral was as good as that kind of thing can be - shared memories and time to reflect on Tiny's life and think about why he was put here on this earth. He sounds like a very special person, and I'm sure he would be chuffed to be an inspiration to you. It's already working - you managed to have nerves of steel and not put your hands in the bikkie barrel - go you!

Nikki - I must confess you can only break through the choccy barrier with a lot of dedication - it's not something everyone can achieve you know! Looking forward to hearing how you go on the Kickstart diet - it sounds really interesting. I think it will give your body something different to shake it up and get you off the dreaded plateau. I'm sure there's a rule somewhere that says you absolutely must have a bevvy or two on Melbourne Cup day - have fun!

R2R - here's hoping your horse comes in! I like the sound of Daffodil - it just seems such a ridiculous name for a racehorse! Day off from work for me - it's a public holiday here in the ACT - this will be the last year though.

kjb kat - congrats on the 600g - yay!

sheri lou - 45* - aaaarrrgghh! It was 33* in Canberra today and I thought that was unspeakable ... Lol at  your antics on the scales - did you try shaving your legs and clipping your toenails?!! Your daughter looks way too cute to be a devil! Good luck for your detox - I don't think you're Robinson Crusoe with not meeting your pledge for this challenge. I'm hoping that the 10 day challenge will get me back to my start weight - grrrr.

Jen - it's a good feeling that even when you have a bit of a blowout, you know it's nowhere near as bad as it would have been once upon a time. 6k walks have got to be doing you good on the tape measure if not on the scales. A food diary is a good way to go.

Oooh I spoke to soon!

The people I'm workin with are lovely - so lovely that they had a welcome morning tea for me.... NOTHING diet friendly whatsoever eeeek!  I had had my breakfast but did have 1/4 donut to be polite.  Very nice of them to do that... but sheeeeez, it's hard sticking to your guns.  A girl there said 'she must take me to Kreem' - a decadent cafe just across the road... and I was thinking NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  I used to work up the road and know exactly the problems with Kreem and the other cafes in the area lol....aaaargh

Anyhoo bought a piece of fresh fish for my dinner but now my niece is coming over so will probably have chicken - so much for detox.  She's in a shocking relationship and is having big issues, so I'm hoping to SIT ON HER until she is ready to leave him completely :O)

Best go and tidy the place up a little since I'm having visitors lol.

Have a good night everyone - be good out there x

Hi Everyone

Day 3 of the 10 day challenge and I've still got my mojo! My skin and eyes are looking a bit brighter already, and the scales are being friendly. Feelin' goooood.

Jen - thanks for your support! The social life always a challenge. But I'd rather have a social life. Hence the weight. It's a vicious circle grrrr.

sheri lou - one of your geegees came in - yessss. Cannot believe that Damien Oliver came last.

San - your new workmates sound lovely and welcoming. Maybe you could just have a black coffee at the fabbo sounding cafe' - your new work buddies wouldn't be any the wiser that you are doing something different. Just an idea? Good luck with your niece - her situation sounds pretty awful.

Jend - congrats on the 400g and 5cm - totally amazing. You know what, have you ever thought about taking up golf - you might enjoy it.  No Melb Cup winner for me, typical.

Hi Peeps

Jenderella - GOLF GOLF GOLF... did anyone say GOLF! How you have time for ironing I'll never know lol

Wishful - So glad you're feeling fab on detox - I found it's the only 'detox' where I didn't get headaches etc... maybe it's the 'sanity' yoghurt, not sure... but it works.  If only I could get my head into mode.

  • My niece ohhhh gawd!  What an absolute mess - short story boyfriend is an anger munger and about 25 yrs her senior (she 22/he nearly 47). After all the tears and heart to hearts bla bla bla... she went back there this morning to pack her things YAY.  BUT, he was there, he stole the car from her so she couldn't leave - she called the cops - last I spoke to her she was giving cops a statement and 'he' arrived back and they're now no doubt making up cos I don't see here here!!!! aAAAAAArgh You can lead a horse to water..........

Why is it that tiredness and a little stress makes me think OREO

Hi Everyone

Day 4 nearly over, and I've come through unscathed! The 10 day challenge is going smoothly - for once I'm not having to do battle with myself over what I will and won't eat, which is usually 9/10 of the struggle.

San - you've got a fair bit on your plate this week with starting a new job, and your niece's situation - no wonder oreos are sounding so good! Hope all gets sorted soon. Hang in there chickadee.

Wishful, no luck on the bloody horses, think they heard me mouthing my selections to my hubby onthe phone, hence loss loss loss and it wasn't my weight going down.

Jenderella, so what was it you were asking Santa for for Christmas, was it something to do with GOLF!! lol

Sandra, just as well your neice has you to listen to her, Im sure she will be back next time they have issues haha, lucky you!!

Weigh in tomorrow, sigh, wont be much again, if anything. But will keep my fingers crossed anyway.

Me giving it another go!!! Thanks Mally
