Hi All...

Is there anybody out there who is struggling to stay motivated?

I am having a really hard time, I have been on the program now for 11 weeks and only lost 5.5 kg

because I cant stop cheating. I have my husband an son always snacking...its so hard.

Its so easy to pop something small in your mouth and just think ah. it would not make a big difference,

but then I do it again and again... Maby its because I dont see or feel a difference in my body yet. Will I loose faster

if I start exercising? It feels like a bad cycle.

I just want to loose this weight and get it over and done with, why is it so difficult...

I feel so down...

Im on my way to be ME again

I know how you feel mate..I have stopped and started this program so many times and I stop just before I begin to see amazing results....

I urge you to set yourself small goals and reward yourself when you achieve them...

try visualising yourself as a the size you would like to be or stick some piccies up around the place...

you can do this...I've only lost just over 7kg but I"m starting to see a difference and it's really helping

Oh I know just how you feel, I get so angry at myself, I want to lose weight so badly, but yet I keep sabotaging myself and I don't understand it. It is good to be able to talk to others who understand, most people I know have never had a weight problem and they don't understand how hard it is. Just keep going and we'll all get there sooner or later

Ban the family from the treats around you.. Honestly if you really want this, you have to stop cheating. The only person you are cheating is yourself.

If  you can't help yourself with the treats around, don't have them around. Don't buy them to keep in the house where you can access them, don't go places where they are until you can control the urge to have these things. Keep a journal and write down everything you put in your mouth and also write down how you are feeling before you eat - you will be surprised at the emotions that go with what you put in your mouth.

Tell the family how hard it is for you when they have these treats and simply don't buy them, so they are not in the house. If they want treats, they can have father and kid time and go out for a treat (without you)...

Yes exercise should be a part of every healthy lifestyle. I know TF say you don't have to but honestly, how did we all get this way - by eating to much and not exercising. Calories in V's Calories out, it is a really simple equation when you think about it..

Hang in there and remember that a change in lifestyle is forever - the shakes are not but the eating is, so now is the time to make those permanent changes to win the weight loss war.

Jodes is right, your not stopping them from having treats they will just have to go out for them.  Or I get my lot to hide anything I might eat.  If I buy anything I always buy treats that I don't really like or a flavour that I'm not keen on.

Another thing I do is take one day at a time.  Its a massive task to lose all my weight so I try not to think about it.  I just concentrate on today or even the next meal/next hour/next 5 mins!!  Whatever I think I can handle!  Small baby steps!  I think its like learning to walk all over again!  If you slip up, just pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start again!!  Don't be hard on yourself, every time you slip up you might learn how to cope with that situation in the future!

Keep coming on here as you will get loads of support and ideas!  Its fantastic!  Good luck!

Jo

I have a suggestion to you, is something i do - i cleaned out all the fridges and the cupboards. Everything we eat is healthy, so in my fridge the only 'convienient fast food' food is things like celery sticks which i have cut up, theres left over veges, soup, fruit, salads.

In the cupboard there are absolutely no 'convienient fast foods' , there are plenty of things to create the fast foods (which more often then not the 'others' cant be bothered making them - and right now, i am not about to), there are tins of asparagus, tomatos etc

If your hubby is snacking, well he may as well be snacking on something that is good for him. My hubby never use to eat celery before we met, but i would just put a bowl of vege sticks on the table and a dip that i had made up and eventually they forget they dont like celery, or they try it, and find its not too bad.

You can also get the tf wrap breads and you can spray them lightly season them and bake them and snap them for some chips (this is a treat food though)

If your hubby or anyone else is really hungry they will eat it - if they just have the munchies they will try it, and all the while you know they are being healthy

(i actually do this all the time, when my hubby comes home from work, all the butter & marg gets hidden in the freezer, and out comes the logical, he 'thinks' thats the marg that we use now.  I even have him convienced the oven doesnt work anymore, so i cant make buscuits / cakes / scones etc, and coming into summer, he thinks the girls and i are too hot to eat anything other then salads lol)
