Hey Guys!

I've lost nearly 12kg now, which is great but I'm starting to notice the skin under my arms hanging!!  I go for a walk most day but don't to anything with my arms!  I don't want to join a gym so are there any exercises I can do at home?  I was thinking of buying a rowing machine but someone told me that they do your stomach not your arms?

Any suggestions? Thanks

Jo

I am not sure as I am no expert by no means but could you possibly buy some weights and do things like bicep curls etc?

I use dumbbells for my triceps

Here are some url's to look at for ideas

you can tone the muscle underneath but there is no way you can get rid of the extra skin that is loose, this will have to tighten up on its own, they say it can take up to a year after loosing weight before your skin stops reducing. certainly doing hand weights will improve definition overall so its still worth it

This will sound terrible but push-ups, tricep push-ups are the best.  And cost you nothing.  Keep your hands underneath your elbows and hold your body stiff like a plank - yes boy push-ups.  Keep your elbows close to your body.  Suck your tummy in and hold your butt tight to support your back. Exercise is like dieting - little by little - so start with one push-up and in no time you will be doing five, rest then do one more, until you can do another five and so on.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replys.  Sandy those sites were great!  I have been trying to do a few of those exercises but I think its gonna take ages for me to build up any strength!

Mrs Powell, do I have to have my hands facing outwards? I can't even do one at the moment!! lol

I know this might sound silly but have you thought of boxing (not necessarily with a target ... although somedays mentally picturing one may spur you on ... lol)

I've been doing Golds Gym cardio workout (a boxing program) on the wii and it seems to have toned up my arms considerably.

Wish my tummy and backside could get the same workout but my muscles there seem not to exist ... it all seems to be flab.

I wouldn't recommend doing full push ups if you haven't got any upper body strength at all yet. You'll probably do better doing "ladies" push ups first to build up some strength. Otherwise you may do what I did and pull some muscles :S lol.
