Hey Just wondering if anyone on here has tried windsor pilates while on the programme? My sister uses it quite frequently and she told me they had a special on the website so I have ordered myself a package. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it and how they found it?

I've had it for a few years, the time I used it it was pretty good... didn't use it for too long though, fell off the wagon.. going to get back on the horse tomorrow!

If it is to be, it's up to me!

I did Windsor Pilates a couple of years ago. I only did the 20 minute work out but it was great. It didn't take long, but I felt like I'd done a lot at the end of the 20 minutes. I actually downloaded it again just recently so I'm going to start doing it again as a part of my daily exercise routine to strengthen up my muscles and improve my posture.

I didn't loose any weight doing it last time (even though it claims that you will loose heaps) but I DID tone up a bit.

Hey MM do you really need the ring? I've got the 20 min one and am yet to do it - is the ring essential?

no, its not really essential, but it does help to keep your arms and legs where they should be, i cannot see why a kids beachball couldnt be used insead - it just makes you concentrate more on working more then one area - if you havent got one though you will be able to do it without -- just improvise

I have often though of having a go at Pilates but am worried that i may hurt myself or it will be too difficult.  I have heard that it is supposed to be really good for core strength, and muscle building.  I have even heard that sometimes footballers use it so it must be good, I will have to have a go and find out, i think starting slowly with a couple of exercises at a time is the way to go.

cheers

hey chrissie, its not a workout like aerobics, its very controlled, unless you do the aerobic cross pilates dvds if your not sure, perhaps go to your local library or dvd store and hire out the dvds for week or so, and see how you feel.  YOu might not get windsor pilates but you should be able to get some of the other pilates which could be based on the same teachings

Hey chrissie, this is a pic of just the ring, you can buy it seperatly if you can pick up the dvds off ebay or other aucton sites (which you can for next to nix)

I've got quite a few different DVD's from this series but my favourite by far is the good old 20 minute work out. If you're just starting I suggest starting with that. You will be sore the next day (it hurt like hell going from sitting to standing) but after a couple sessions it's all good. You might not notice toning up or anything else for a while but you will notice that you're more flexible.

Good luck with it all.
