Over the last week i have been really naughty! bread, chocolates, cheeses, BBQ chicken for dinner....Ect

i keep saying to myself that im going to be good tomorrow but it is getting easier and easier to just keep saying it! I have lost all motivation, i want the weight to drop off but i know im not helping myself out, if anything i think im eating more junk than i was before i started the TF program

Ohh well, today is a new day, so theres no point dwelling on all the other things you got up to just look onwards and beyond.

"Over the last week i have been really naughty! bread, chocolates, cheeses, BBQ chicken for dinner....Ect"

YOu know what, i just pulled that out of what you said you had - and its not so bad. theres nothing wrong with having that stuff, but, lets see if we can find a way where you can have it???

bread - what about getting some tf wraps and using those instead?
choclate -- tf has chocolate too
cheeses - you can have low fat philly or mainland cream cheese,, ricotta
bbq chicken -- nothing wrong with that - take the skin off and keep your limit to 120g and its the perfect meat to accomodate your meal

As you can see, theres nothing wrong with what you had, except perhaps the type - so what about having a few tf substitues on hand for when you really really really must have those items, or simply use them as your treats

So if you put all the things that your not suppose to have, where it would really really inconvience you to them them (like in the bottom of the fridge right at the back) and have a good supply of fruit and veges at the front of the fridge you will be more likely to reach for them.

Sometimes when you really have an urge for something, all you have to do is substitue. I really really really wanted something creamy and filling for breaky yesterday. So i cut up some mushies, and cabbage and zuccini , onion, tomato and handful of any other vege i had in the fridge, and i did like a stir fry with them, then i added a smigen of riccotta -- ohh yummmmmmmmmmmm i was in heven, and i discovered a new sauce i could put on top of steak

Now thats not somethign i would normally have had for breaky, but i was really leaning towards the wrong foods, so i had to curb my ways before i was blindfolded and started eatting the wrong foods (which i do have, but they are right down the bottom and right at the back of the fridge) and i walked away satisfied

Another thing, convert all your food over to a healthy substitute, that way if you are going to pinch a piece its on the healthier side of being bad - eg. when the white bread runs out, get a loaf of wholemeal, and do the same for pastas, rice, spegettis. Reach for the lower fat items when you go shopping also - they are there, and they taste just as good

Know what you mean ... struggle days are hard!!  I make sure that I've got no chocolate in the house.  The only way I can cope.

I've also discovered that if I make up a heap (and I mean heap) of vegie patties and leave them in the fridge I can either zap them to warm them up or eat them cold and I quite often spread them with avocado ... yummmmm.  Also have home made veg soup from allowed veg on hand and have a cup of that if I'm looking to snack.

The other way I cope is by having a bottle of water and drinking 1/2 it, if I still can't cope then I go outside away from food.  May just wander in circles but at least I'm not eating!

Caz

Hi there,

Thank you so much for the tips, i think i will have to go through my cupboards tonight and clear out the "bad" stuff and take up the idea of substitution, i have been really disappointed with myself and i have been leaning towards giving up  im not going to give up though, i just have to remember that the only person im cheating is myself!!!

I really like the idea of the vege patties, do you have a recipe i could follow - im not very knowledgable around the kitchen i must say! that is one of the reasons i hav always opted for the things i could just grab and eat so there was half my problem to begin with...Lol

Again THANK YOU!!! I dont feel so ashamed anymore...

What great advice! You are an inspiration. Sounded like a wonderful breakfast.

The only way I can cope is not to have the naughty things in the house. I' m lucky as I live alone so yes I know it makes it easier. I do have a few things here though for my grandson who is here regularly and so far haven't been tempted in the least to touch.

I need to find a few recipes that are allowable for those times when I'm just wanting or needing a snack otherwise I just might go beserk one day and bang! I'll be off the programme and all my good hard work will have been wasted.

ohh it was a yummo breaky But it would be soo nice on a piece of steak

I found loads of receipes in the receipe thread in this forum -- theres some yummo stuff in there, including cheesecake !!!! (yep one you can eat)

You know what, yesterday i think it was, the little girls had cheezels, and they put one in my mouth, yummm tasted so good, but ohhh geeezzzzzzzz-- my stomach didnt like it much -and the kids didnt like me much a few hours later (pewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww) i think i will stick to the tf food lol

It is hard to do when you have to fit in doing tf when you are a member or a houseful of people -- my miss 14 reached tonight for my tf wraps!! i cracked it, i said what are you doing theres mountain bread here, and she told me she prefers tf ones -- well dont know who let her have a try but it wasnt me.  Shes the perfect weight for her height, so i wasnt impressed, apprently in pe at school, they learnt weight etc she wants me to get a set of scales, so i bought household ones lol, shes not impreessed with me lol

I think that sends the wrong message to teens, sure teach them nutrition and exercise....but learning about weight? they are still growing and developing and each grow at different rates...gah...its grates me!! >.<  Good for you getting household scales!!

Ohh i hate scales vixxsin, so many rely on them, and the only person that aught to, is the practioner who prescribes medication and needs to know your weight to work out the right dosage.

One thing that helps me on the tf journey, is ensuring theres a lot of variety.  We have a lot of allowed veges and now that we are use to the types of fruit we can have, we only have those peices of fruit in the house. It did take a while to get use to only having certain fruits, as we love our fruit and veges, so we cook as per ususal, i just make sure that on my place its tf food.

Another thing, check out the prices, because sometimes its cheaper to buy frozen rather then fresh (and sometimes its a better product / price).

I also have a folder on my computer, where i put loads of recipes, like cauli receipes, and shakes and soups -- munchie foods (thiats things to make and put in the fridge till later)

I have fallen off the wagon about three times, just think if I had stuck to it all these months instead of falling off and getting back on I would probably be at goal by now.

My motto is not to quit, persevere little setbacks are allowed.

cheers
