I'm going to be unpopular here but I couldn't care less about the Twilight books and movies. I'm one of those people that if someone constantly says to me "Oh, you should read these books, they're the BEST" I'll get militant about not reading them, and there's nothing that anyone can say that will convince me to do otherwise. I've seen the first movie, but only because my hubby downloaded it to see what all the fuss was about. I wasn't impressed.

It's funny because my young teenage cousin loves the books so much that she re-reads them constantly. Because of the generational age gap she's never really seen any of the Star Trek episodes, let alone the original series. I told her that if she wants me to read the Twilight books, she has to sit down and watch a few episodes of the original Star Trek series with me. She wrinkled her nose and said "Why would I want to watch THAT rubbish". My reaction was "And now you understand how I feel about reading Twilight". Rofl I think she gets it now.

Oh and for a real kick in the teeth for any fan... I don't find ANY of the actors in the movie attractive. At all. *ducks for cover* Lol sorry but I won't explain why otherwise I suspect I'd have a nation of fans hunting for MY blood rofl.

lol its cool everybody has their own opinion of it.

For those fans who are in love with it my mum bought the daily telegraph for me today and it had a big glossy new moon poster. one side bella n edward the other side the wolf pack.

Start weight: 89.4 kgs 91cm 18/2/2009

Current weight: 72.4kgs 76cm 5/7/2009

but i reckon the tape measures at tf are stretched because my tape measure at home says im 80cm

my goal is to get down to 70kgs so im nearly there but will go to a little bit under.

hopefully by this stage i will have overcome my extreme shyness and lack of confidence. also to go out with a guy who asked me.

Download - maybe we're the same age group hehe...I can't find 'boys' half my age sexy?!

I didn't actually LOVE Twilight, found it a bit lame to be honest and I was SO looking forward to it due to the hype!  But because I'm a "hype kinda girl" I'll be going to the midnight session for Twilight and New Moon here in NZ on the 19th November Wahooooo.   I'm hoping there will be a whole lot more SMUT and ROMANCE in this one :O)

.... Princessleia...if anyone was talking photo's next to me I'd find that SO distracting (like when people are vibrating and freaking texting in the movies) be so pissed off at them - gawd, I'm a nana pants eh lol

*grabs the AK-47*  lol nah jks

Oh my I feel for your cousin, having to even be asked to sit down and watch Star Trek.....*vomit*   I rather go blind to be honest than endure that.  However, I did feel sorry for all the Star Trek geeks that got bashed up at my high school, its not their fault they didnt have a social life and escape their rooms of Star Trek figurines and Star Trek doona covers etc....haha.

....each to their own I say....otherwise this world would be very boring.

I'm glad to say that that particular sterotype doesn't apply to me. I'd hate to have gone to a school where someone assumed that being a fan of something made you worthy of a beating! Maybe I just went to school with more tolerant kids *shrug*.
I guess it's the same reason I don't call Twilight fans "Twi-hards" like everyone else seems to. Frankly I find it offensive. I have no interest in the books or movies but that doesn't justify insulting people who like it. They're just people who like a book.

I guess there's extremes to any genre. Frankly I'm terrified of 'trekies'... The people who walk around in Star Trek uniforms and do the vulcan salute to each other. It's a little more than disturbing! But I think most every day normal people just happen to like things, they don't go out of their way to dress up like the people on their favorite show... That being said the last gamer convention I went to there was a stall where you could pay good money to dress up in the clothes that they'd worn for the Twilight movie and have your photo taken in them. WHAT THA?! Epic waste of money. Lol.

Well im glad im not in the category of the Twilight try hard fans either....I just happen to love the movie ( i like all things vampires)...and read the books after it....found some of the books to be very disappointing in parts where scenes werent really necessary or the skill of the writing was poor. I do however find the male actors appealing to the eye At least I think Robert Pattinson has more substance as he is also a very talented singer.

The only Trekies at our school were the ones that wore the costumes, especially to the school formal. So yeah the jocks gave em a beating...kids can be cruel. I wasnt in either 'group'...kinda just kept to my own click where we werent the most popular but not the most hated either. Just the people liked by all

A gamer convention...didnt happen to be World of Warcraft did it??

*chuckle* No, not World of Crackcraft. Although I did used to play it, sad to say. My hubby got me into it when I met him and I spent the next 2 years being completely addicted. I got sick of it eventually though, my justification for playing it in the first place was that it had a good story line. By the time they started releasing expansions it was all same old same old. I got more enjoyment out of reading a book so I stopped playing it.

No, Armageddon is a general gaming convention. I usually go to drool over the new toys. This year they had a (star wars themed *gag*) game that you could buy that was a ball in a tube. It had a fan in the bottom of it and you wore a headset with sensors on it. The ball would rise and fall based on your concentration level. Very cool! I couldn't help but think of all the 2 second attention span kiddies who love games that would get real benefit out of that. It was about the same cost as 2 new xbox games and I wish they'd tell more parents about it!
The thing that ruined it this year was that they had given half of the space in the convention hall away to Twilight promo stuff. It was very disappointing. Oh they had the guy that played Edward there doing a q&a. The whole place was full of pre-teen and teen girls who were only there to see him. Thankfully the place cleared out a bit after he'd gone... But we were still left with half a convention hall full of stuff that had nothing to do with gaming. The only demo set up they had for a game this year was a 3d game on a big screen, but you couldn't get close to it because of the Twilight fans that were lining up to get that guy's autograph I don't think I'll be going to that particular con next year

LOL i used to play WoW ALOT too...havent played it since January....but it was good to fill in time when my son was sleeping all the time as a newborn. yeh ends up just being same old stuff....and theres only so much you can do when you only play an hour here or there...cant run instances or dungeons...just quest and do the achievements. We always go back to the game for a bit then quit for 6 months or so.

Ahh yeh I have been to Armageddon before when I lived in Melbourne...I am a gamer geek and proud   I have a PS2 a PS3 and Xbox360 lol  plus I my computer has been set up as a gamer comp. I also like my Anime and Manga too.

I mean I guess they had Twilight because they do showcase TV/Movie Stars....but I cant justify half the expo all on Twilight...would be a huge let down for the non twilight fans....I guess the organisers knew it would bring the numbers along to the expo.

I feel sorry for Robert (Edward), in an interview he said he hates children, like the teens that come running after him....guess it now comes with the territory.....the books werent really aimed at teens......especially the last one with the brutal honeymoon lovemaking scene...but I guess thats what the movies have attracted. LOL sucks to be him.

Hmmm maybe I should read the books ?   Are they more ummmm adult?

I really liked the 'idea' of Twilight, but I hadn't realised it was pretty much aimed at teenagers and I guess I just don't 'get it' how people in their 30/40's are in awe of the movie.  To me it was a teenage movie, much like Friday the 13th etc.  which I went to see last Valentines and thought WTF! lol... guess I'm past teenage movies but totally understand why my nieces would love it.

Might get the books out if you think they're better as I LOVE vampire movies etc....

I don't think Edward has anything on Tom Cruise in Interview with a Vampire thought
