I'M TRYING TO MAKE A VEGGIE SLICE/PATTIES THAT I CAN HAVE A LUNCH AND THEN MY SHAKE FOR AFTERNONN TEA BUT I DON;T WANT TO USE UP MY PROTEIN SERVE. CAN I USE EGG WHITES TO HOLD THE VEGGIES TOGETHER OR ARE THEY COUNTED AS PROTEIN??

Dear EMILOU, Thank you for your enquiry. In response to your question, although the white from egg does have greater protein content than the yolk, the energy content is much lower and to achieve adequate energy intake from a protein serve of egg whites, you will need a lot of egg whites. Therefore, yes you may use egg whites to help bind your vegetables together, however I would not recommend this on a daily basis. Alternatively, why not use the Tony Ferguson Simply Fibre as a binding agent for your patties. This will allow you to have a full serving of protein in your day.
