my daughters friend was attacked 2 wks ago now and i want others to be aware of what can happen, apparantly a guy gave her a beer and she drunk it and a few hrs later they found her in the bushes totally passed out, she has been checked by drs, but dosent remember a thing. It could have been my daughter, but she was with her ex-boyfriend at the time.

Ok have you heard the latest about the date rape drug.  ........rohypnol not a good thing, apparantly when someones offers you a beer -more so a beer - pls decline, as they put it in your drink, mainly beer, as there is no taste to the drug. Within 1/2 hr youre afffected and can last up to 2-8 hrs.  The after effects are pretty bad, no memory at all of what happened, vomiting, dhirrohea, headache, nightsweats, decreased blood pressure, memory impairment, drowsiness, visual disturbances, dizziness, confusion, gastrointestinal disturbances and urinary retention.

Is Rohypnol addictive? 
and you can actually become addicted to it. People or friends come up to you and say its "liquid ecstasy," "somatomax," "scoop,"  "grievous bodily harm." rophies, roofies, R2, roofenol, Roche, roachies, la rocha, rope, rib, circles, Mexican valium, roach-2, roopies, and ropies.or some other name. It will look like a panadol or some sort of headache tablet.

It is approximately ten times more potent. It is used also as an illicit drug, often in combination with other drugs, such as heroin, cocaine, and alcohol. Rohypnol tablets are white, scored on one side, with the word "ROCHE" and an encircled one or two on the other. They are sold in pre-sealed bubble packs of one or two mg doses. Rohypnol can often be dissolved in a drink, and undetectable.

Rohypnol use has been reported on every inhabited continent. It is often used in conjunction with other drugs. It is usually ingested orally, but can be snorted. Teens are using it at alarming rates and the cases of rapes will become increased, and also gang rapes, when a young girl is out to it, young men are pressured into committing a sex act by their friends and they will all go along and rape the girl. More so some of the young Arabian men, when they have no respect for women in general.

The most common pattern of use is by teenagers and young adults as an alcohol extender in an attempt to create a dramatic "high" most often in combination with beer, or as a drug to incapacitate a victim before a sexual assault.

Rohypnol is a cheap drug, sold at less than $5.00 per tablet. ( remember the other names it goes by ) some misconceptions may explain the drug's popularity with young people: 1) many believe that the drug is unadulterated because it comes in pre-sealed bubble packs -- and therefore tamper-proof and safe; 2) many mistakenly think its use cannot be detected by urinalysis testing. Some dont come in sealed packs at all.

 
Rohypnol intoxication is generally associated with impaired judgment and impaired motor skills and can make a victim unable to resist a sexual attack. The victim will become like  rag doll and then totally pass out. The combination of alcohol (beer ) and Rohypnol is also particularly hazardous because together, their effects on memory and judgment are greater than the effects resulting from either taken alone.    Losing your social inhibitions is another widely reported effect of Rohypnol, when taken alone or in combination with alcohol. 
Seizures may occur up to a week after the end use of this drug.

Rohypnol has been associated with date rape, and has also been called the "Forget Pill," "Trip-and-Fall," and "Mind-Erasers." In combination with alcohol, it can induce a blackout with memory loss and a decrease in resistance. Girls and women around the country have reported being raped after being involuntarily sedated with Rohypnol, which was often slipped into their drink by an attacker.   Such victims have no memories of what happened while under the drug's influence.

  Be wary about accepting drinks from anyone you don't know well or long enough to trust. · If you are accepting a drink, make sure it's from an unopened container and that you open it yourself.

• Don't put your drink down and leave it unattended, even to go to the restroom.
• Notify other females you know about the effects of this dangerous drug.
• If you think that you have been a victim, notify the authorities immediately.
• Tell security if you think there might be a problem and also tell a friend thats with you, another good thing is have 1 freind stay sober as a lookout each time you go out for drinks.

my friends daughter also had her drink spiked and it was only because of her vilgilent friends that things did not turn out worse.  They tookher to the hospital when she started acting strange.  if they had let her sleep it off then she would have been much worse or dead.

So the other piece of advice other than the excellent ones above is to make sure that freinds look out for eachother and that if soemthing doesn't seem right don't try to handle it yourselves, seek medical assistance immediatley.  Many young people are scared to go to the hospital in case they get into trouble for underage drinking or drug taking.  But they need to know that things can go really bad really quickly and that they won't get into trouble if they seek help for themselves or their freinds.

ON TF MAINTENANCE SINCE 11/08/09

v  In 42 weeks (14/10/08 – 10/8/09) I lost 38.4 kilos.  And on maintenance I lost another 2 kgs.

v  TOTAL WEIGHT LOST 40.5 KILOS!

v  I started at 110.4 kilos and dropped to 72 kgs.  I am now 70kgs.

v  My waist measurement dropped 24cm from 98 cm to 74cm. 

v  I started out as a size 18/20 top & 22/24 bottom.  I am now a size 10-14.

v  My BMI was 39.2 which was obese. I am now in a healthy weight range.

v  THANKS TF I COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!!

Point is, it can happen anywhere, and anytime. You can't count on the fact that you know the person that's offering you the drink. A lesson for ANYone that goes out no matter what your age. Don't accept a drink unless you've seen the bar person pour it and the other person hasn't passed it to you! Slight of hand is the devil and in liquid form those drugs are impossible to see once they're in your drink. And a good tip for your girls (or even yourself). When you aren't paying as much attention to your drink because you're talking to a friend, put a clean coaster over the top of your glass. Bit difficult to slip something in your drink without someone noticing the coaster being lifted

TOTALLY Rosebud - I've had 'a situation' where I didn't want to go to A&E incase I was reported or told off, that kind of decision can cost you your life.  Medical staff are there to assist you medically, not to tell you off.  Good advice!

I made sure I didn't accept drinks from anyone or leave my drink unattended that night so I was at a loss as to how it could have happened.  It turned out a few weeks later they caught a guy who was lacing his cigarettes and offering them to women.  That was obviously what had happened to me because there was no way anyone could of spiked my drink that night but I did remember being offered a cigarette and I did accept it.

So, please pass it on that these people will do anything to drug people!

Not just the drinks but cigarettes too!!
