Hey,

I used bio oil and a back scrubbing brush (the more you rub increases blood flow and therefore growth and repair) to get rid of mine and they are all but gone tho you can still feel them a bit.

Also have to say my 45kilo best friend also has MASSIVE stretch marks and wares bikini's ect and looks hot!!

If thats your worst part rejoice!

x

I have a stretchmark covered tummy....mine are clear and noticable mainly under downlights/bright lights but Ive still been to scared to wear a bikini.....but hubby pointed something out to me in QLD...we were lying on the beach and there were women everywhere in bikinis, with stretchmarks, baby "pouches", saggy tummys and all and they didn't seem to care. They were confident and that radiated...I hadn't even noticed their tummys.

I use Bio oil on my tummy. My stretchies used to be red..now they r clear and almost look like tiny wrinkles (there are alot of them tho....2 babies are to thank for that!) but I think Im almost at a point where I can be proud of who I am, the way i look and brave a bikini!

I'm going for 10kg loss in 10weeks- I DID IT! I lost 10kg in under 10weeks!

Week 1- 2.8kg Loss
Week 2- 2.2kg Loss
Week 3- 800gm Loss
Week 4- 1kg Loss
Week 5- 1kg Loss

Week 7- 1kg Loss
Week 8- 1kg Loss- I did it...10.6kg lost in 8weeks!
Week 9- 600gm Loss
Week 10- 600gm Loss- I'm finally in the 60's!
Week 11- 800gm Loss

I would love to think that I would one day look good in a bikini, but at my age it would not be a pretty site, I would just love to actually be able to weight clothes that flatter my body not make me look frumpy, which is the problem I am having at the moment.

cheers

Don't worry about the people in your past as there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future

Stretch marks are there from gaining (or losing!) too quickly, your skin literally breaks it's cells. Often you will feel a slight ridge. So make sure you lose at a decent but healthy "not too fast" rate.

If they are red, then they will fade to a silvery white, depending on what your skin tone is like this will be more or less noticeable - i.e. I'm olive complexion and they kinda stand out olive vs silver lines.  If you're pasty white they won't show much at all when they go to silver.  And as everyone else has mentioned, you can spray tan over them - regular tanning may not work so well as they will always be lighter.

  • Bio oil helps *it isn't magic* but in over time it assists in skin tone and will make the marks less noticeable.

The most important thing is your confidence though.  Hopefully as you shrink you will also learn to love the body you're in, it's with you for life so make friends with it and accept the bits you don't love so much.

Very few people have perfection so just enjoy :O)
