Can anyone shed any light on the topic of being grumpy whilst doing this diet. Is it something that i have to ride through to get to the fat burning stage? I find that after 3 days of doing really well and being relatively happy i have a really low day, really grumpy and teary and agressive. So i eat a healthy kebab (not greasy meat from a stick, rather breast chicken with salad on flatbread and the next day i am all good to go again. Should i just ride the grumpy wave - will it end. This has happened 3 times in a row now. I am a sole parent and cannot be excessively grumpy around my one year old, so i fold and eat to feel better.
Please help staffers : (

Dear Vikstarr,

Thank you for your enquiry.  In response to your question, the feelings you are experiencing are common in the first few weeks on the program.  It is your body detoxing and entering the fat burning process , which means you are burning fat, so that's a good thing! It will pass, and you will certainly feel on top of the world once this phase is over.

Including extra carbohydrates in your day such a as flat bread will stop the fat burning process therefore, slow or even stop weight loss for the week as well as forcing your body to have to go through the initial first stage of fat burning.

Please make sure you are having daily, 2 Tony Ferguson meal replacement sachets, 1 serve of protein, at least 3 cups of vegetables, 2 pieces of fruit and 2 litres of water. By adding extra of the above, this should help with your feelings of grumpiness, lethargy and so on.  Also take a Simply Balanced multivitamin every day, to help with your energy levels which in turn will help with your grumpiness.

If you should have any further concerns or would like to discuss this situation in more depth please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support Centre on 1800 612 644.

Kind regards,

Angela TF
