Is it normal to gain a little weight before or during a cycle? I have my first weigh in on Wednesday and I started my period today. I have followed the TF program 110%, so I'm a little wary that my results on Wednesday might be influenced by my period.

(Disclaimer: I won't always obsess over this, it's just that for me..this 1st weigh in is psychologically v. important)

Everyone is different. I just finished TTOM but had to weigh in whilst having my period...and I lost 400g....I was stricter on TF too that week so I think I wouldve lost more if it werent for TTOM.  But it still is possible to have a loss...im proof of that.

I hope it all goes well for you at weigh in...

I think if I've lost only 400g on my first weigh in after starting the TF program, I'll be very upset. I understand that's a fairly normal amount to lose once you've been on it a while, but I am expecting a lot more from myself this week.

Thanks for the kind words though.

Well I did have a huge binge eating session before I started...so that wouldve played a part in my Week 1 weigh in. Everyone is different. I was disappointed in my Week 1 weigh in but I certainly wasnt discouraged....im still here.

Hi,

I have definitely noticed that my weighins are affected by TTOM and water retention. Just before my TTOM my loss will be minimal and and then afterwards I will have a big loss each time.

Try not to feel discouraged.

Go in for it anyway, it can't hurt

But dont be dissapointed if you do weigh more or even if you weigh the same, whenever I have my period I weight a good 1 - 2 kilos more than when I dont, and i'm a clothes size bigger (made the mistake of going clothes shopping with aunty flo once)
