hi

atm I'm sick with glandular fever - it's awful and I feel terrible ...

when i went to the docs he said my Bp was really high - and to go back next week to check it .....

it's usually been ok - and I cant remember the figures he gave me

for you that have it - were there any symptoms that you were aware of - and do the docs put you on meds instantly - or will they let you have a month or so to diet and exercise before checking again.......

sorry, i cant help you with that, im the opposite, i have really LOW blood pressure, usually under 100. My husband had high blood pressure at 115kgs, he is now 100kgs and his blood pressure is normal, even without his medication.. So the doc might wait, depends how focused you are on losing..

I had high blood pressure, no there are no symptoms allerting you that you have it, its possible its because you are sick so don't stress hun, and no they don't always start you on meds straight away unless its very high, the tablets are no problem to take if you have to have some, I take 1 tablet a day and have not had a high reading for 4 years...

Please rest and stay off the TF diet until you are well, you need more food to help you get through this, we're all still here for you and keep coming, ring the 1800 612 644 number and talk to a consultant, they may be able to advise a good eating habit until you can restart the diet..

My blood pressure is normally on the low side but when I have a migraine it often goes quite high, so my doctor suggested that I take a blood pressure tablet when I have a migraine - I didn't and don't, I don't feel it is the right thing to do as it only goes up when I have a migraine.

My OH has high blood pressure and a family history of strokes, so he does take it twice a day. I can tell if he has not taken it, as his face is always redder than usual and he often seems short on breath (and moodier too).

I think it depends on how much higher your blood pressure was and family history - I do think they like to monitor it for a bit before prescribing meds (providing it is not so high as to cause problems).
