WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT?

Following are a few points that may help you understand why you may not have lost weight at your last weigh in

* Not drinking at least 2 litres of water

* Having bread, rice, pasta, crackers, breakfast cereals

* Having fruit juice

* Having alcohol

* Mixing shakes with milk rather than water

* Having dairy products eg. milk, yoghurt etc

* Having more than 2 fruits per day, fruits not on the allowed list or larger servings

* Certain medications

* Having mainly or too many carrots as your veggie requirement

* Having potatoes, pumpkin, peas or corn

* Eating nuts or seeds

* Havings honey or sugar in tea/decaffeinated coffee/shakes

* Having chickpeas, kidney or cannelloni beans

* Consuming too much dressing, sauces, mayo, gravies etc or those with greater than 5g carbs/100g

* Having baked beans

* Too many treat options or having them too often

* Having regular coffee rather than decaff or having more than 3 cups of normal tea per day

* Having lots of tea/decaff coffee with milk so that total milk intake is high

* Having normal soft drinks rather than having diet and caffeine free versions

* Having powdered soups available from supermarket

* Having regular jelly instead of diet jelly

* Skipping meals

* Exercising? - If you exercise a lot, this can increase muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat - so you  may have lost fat but built muscle, which makes you appear heavier on the scales but you should find that your clothes will feel loser as you go along!!!

I hope this helps you guys better understand some of the things that will impact on the amount of weight you lose at the end of each week.

Thanks for your reply.I am actally NOT doing any of those things so my chances are not looking good. One point taken is the excercise and i do feel like i have shrunk and lost around middle.So i guess i have to just keep sticking to it for a little while longer and see where it goes. Thanks Pam

Hi Woody,

Whew ! So glad about the muscle comment.....I actually gained 1.5 this week, nearly had a heart attack at my weigh in...lol

But, for the first time in years, I have been able to workout (wow, workout? a new word !!!) When I went to dress this morning, my clothes were heaps looser, so I assume another good weigh in !   WRONG.

Thanks for explaining this one, I feel much better

Thanks for posting those points up, it was one of my questions this week why my weight loss is going no where at all at this stage, so i can look to see what i have to work on, the gravy's, the sauces, too much avocado, especially the mayo and weighing my protein.

week 1 / 120kg- week 7 / 109kg

so hopefully i can get it kick started this week, Thanks woodyB

Hi this is my first comment

I have just been reading other comments regarding not losing weight.

I have been on this diet for 6 weeks and only lost 4lb, I have not been eating or drinking anything except what I am allowed. And to my amazement this morning I have gained 2 lb.

Prior to going on this diet,  my main meals were full of carbs and little or no protein I am an office worker but do all the manual work at home as most women do and drive approx 800 kilometres a week.

I drink about 3 litres or more of water a day.

Please somebody help me
