Hi,

few thoughts, are you exercising particularly doing weights, if so, you could be putting on muscle which weighs more than fat. Have you put on cm's around your waist? If not i wouldnt worry too much, waist measurements are a better indicator of fat loss. If you're not exercising mabey incorporate some cardio to assist in the weight loss. Also it could be water rentention due to either; not drinking enough water, having too much salt or possibly pre-menstral water rentention.

If it keeps happening, see your GP, ask to have your Endoctrine glands checked (at a baisc level these glands contrlol hormones and matabolism eg thyroid, pancreas, and adrenals) my sister has a thyroid condition she's on TF and doing great.

Assess the gain by a process of alimination - what have i done or what havent i done.

I was able to identify why exactly I was not losing weight. I think it is because I am on medication for migraine.

Does this thread need updating? my book says we can have potatoes, pumpkin, peas, corn, yogurt (as limited foods) and if you read the spring mag pg 45 it says that the comment 'Muscle weighs more than fat' is not true, as a kilo of fat weighs exactly the same as a kilo of muscle. However muscle is denser then fat.

Hi

I think the which weighs more thing is like the whole what is heavier, a kilogram of feathers or a kilogram or rocks? They are actually the same weight (both being a kilo), the size of each pile is actually the difference, the pile of feathers being so much bigger.

So, with muscle being denser, the kilogram of muscle takes up less space than the kilogram of fat, hence making you smaller in size but not necessarily smaller on the scales.

Does this make sense? Also, which book says you can have potatoes and peas etc? Is that still on the weight loss program or the maintenance?

Hey Wichita,

Are you currently using any form of hormone based contraception? I could not lose a kilo when i was taking the pill, on the Depo needle etc. Since i have changed to something that doesnt use any sort of homone i am back losing weight again. Took a while for it to happen though, completely flush my body of any residue. My Dr was really helpful as she knew how important losing weight is to me.

Might not be it, but if your using something you might need to get the side effects checked?

Same here I think thats why I am having small losses....I just really hate tap water and cannot stand diet cordial
