Hi everyone,

People are assuming this is only a low carb programme. IT is actually a low calorie programme (approx 1000-1200 a day) and low fat/low GI as well.

Please don't only look at carb count on items. If you are unsure give the call centre a call or look through the ask TF section. Most items are usually out if they aren't listed in the book, do a search and usually you will find the answers.

We all looked for goodies we are allowed to have when we first started, I was desperate for cheese and you know what? Now I am at goal I don't crave it at all or potatoes.

Hi There Pat,

You know what.... When I first started, the lady at my local TW chemist only told me about the low carb side of things.... She said, and I quote... "You don't have to look at the cal/fat side of things...... you only do that with Weight Watchers... not TF".... So yeah, during my first couple of weeks, I was having cheese and a little kabana.. and the like Then I discovered these forum, and by GOD I have learnt so much. I no longer ask my TW ladies and questions regarding the program, I leave it to the professionals. If I need to know something, I either call the 1800 number or post it in the "Ask Staff" section. There is so much conflicting info out there......... you are best to leave it to the pro's for your advice.

If you stick to what is written in the book, you don't have to worry about fat/cals at all. All the hard work has been done for you.

It is only when you want something not listed. All the foods in the book have the amounts worked out for you and added to the daily shakes to stay within the daily limits. These have already had the fat, cals etc determined.

The only things you need count carbs for are protein, dressings, gravies & sauces (allowed ones of course). If these are on the list fine, the fat etc has lalready been taken into account & given the green light.

I had a great girl serve me in the TW chemist and she explained everything in detail. She said under 10gm/100 of Fat and under 5gm/100 of carb. I now read all labels religiously! (Takes me twice as long to shop!)

*I get enough exercise just pushing my luck!*

Have a look at the pinned lists at the top of the supermarket section. You can use those without any worry to add interest to the programme.

If you stick with those you shouldn't have any problems.

Better luck next week,

Pat

ps keep drinking that water.

Littlebit, it may take twice as long to shop now, but just think, by the time you reach goal, shopping will be halved (again) because you will 'know' what to have, without reading labels and will only need to read them for new things. Its just about learning all over again.

Food builds bodies. The more food I eat, the bigger the body I get.

I wasn't told to look at the cals as well, but because I was told no dairy I didn't have any cheese anyway LOL.

Also when I started I was having salad all the time, no dressings so I didn't worry about checking cals as well. I started checking them myself when buying a sauce etc, simply because it made sense to me to check. But if they had of told me not to worry about the cals, I wouldn't of checked at all.

New goal, maybe LOL. 65 kilos
