| Hi, I have been following a program with my gym, which is based on the Low GI side of things, I discovered that it is not the calories that is the cause of the weight gain but the sugar content in some foods that we are unaware of. That is why carbohydrates can be so dangerous when we are trying to lose weight. Have fruit and vegetables, but stay away from biscuits, cakes, rice, noodles, pasta and potatoes, or only eat them in moderation. I am beginning to understand why Low GI is better than low carb or the atkins diet. Cheers

Oh dear... I did not know this either... I'm going to rush home and look at all the labels of stuff I've bought!! Good to know. Ok so is it less than 5grms of carbs and less than 10grms of fat?? and is this per serve?? or per 100grms??
Starting weight: 82.1kgs 19th June 09 - 81.8kg = 300grm loss 26th June 09 - 80.7 = 1.1kg loss 3rd July 09 - 79.6 = 1.1kg loss - Getting there!! Slow and steady! 10th July 09 - 78.6 = 1kg loss 17th July 09 - 77.2 = 1.4 loss 24th July 09 - 76.3 = 0.9 loss 31st July 09 - 76.3 = No loss! 7th Aug 09 - 74.5 = 1.8kg loss 14th Aug 09 - 75.7 = 1.2 gain - odd few weeks, stuck to the programme 100% and got a no loss, then huge loss, then gain! 21st Aug 09 - 75.1 = 0.6 loss - better than nothing... but still confused as to why the body has given up!
